http://www.rileyyardsales.com/item15133912.html?itemId=15133912&src=SEARCH I found an item posted on RYS for $25 used, I emailed the person and let them know that I bought the same exact thing for $19 brand new at Walmart, lol. What are these people trying to pull?

http://ksu.craigslist.org/bab/1758008988.html This lady is selling her used bouncer for $25 when you can buy it new in the box at Target for $26 People these days

People just don't do their homework. I think some just price stuff based on how much $$ they want/need and not on what its worth.

militarybrat --- 15 years ago -

This is true. I have seen even college books people try to sale at the same price or over on what they paid for because I guess they know when you buy back books they only get half of that money if that. If that is the case I will just buy it new. I'm paying the same amount of money

People are silly, however I will say that I had purchased premixed similac for $5.90 each (I had 2) and my son ended up needing sensitive. So I posted them for both (Sealed) for $10. I got so many hate mail emails about over charging. I don't feel I was in the wrong, they were sealed and a good price for that product. I guess it depends on the item.

good to know... my hubby has had his stolen TWICE in the past year. this last pair we just bought i told him if he was careless he would just do without. lol. You sound like me! The dog at a pair of gloves he had, and they weren't a standard issue item so they were a luxury. I told him if he didn't want her to have a new chewy then he should have picked them up.

Cristy --- 15 years ago -

PCW You were fine to post them for that because yours were still NEW and you did post them for less than you paid.

JeffandKristen --- 15 years ago -

www.usstandardissue.com is a website that you can buy ANYTHING LUXURY for 1/2 to 1/3 of the price they are in the stores (including AAFES) Don't believe me? Look at it. I don't work for them but bought my Oakley's there for $55 when they sell in the store for $100-$150.

I usually do a lot of price comparisons before I purchase anything. Why throw away money?

donna --- 15 years ago -

I have learned to google items before I make an offer. As you have stated, people sell their items for full value or more. I got burnt a few times before I learned to look. When I point it out to the seller, most get mad at me. Some are really surprised and go with the lower price. This is especially true on video games. You can get them so cheap online. People want what they paid or what someone else paid for it and that just does not happen at a yard sale.

After reading and posting, I got to thinking about an item that I was to purchase this afternoon. Turns out that the item is already 4-5 years old and the original asking price of $80 is more than it sold new. Back in 2007 the item was reduced from $179 to $75 and then to $50 to get rid of the stock on hand at Home Depots. I had offered $50 not realizing how old it was or what it sold for new. I apologized to the seller and told them what I found in my research and that I just couldn't pay the same price for a 5 year old used item as what it sold for new three years ago.

WAY TO GO DONNA!

I do sell things on here but I do believe when you can my motto is which usually turns out to be true almost every time...You get what you pay for! Ya know? It's how you treat it and upkeep on things, handle with care as if it belongs to your mother (or someone you greatly appreciate) lol
