My husband has the worst habit talking in his sleep. Sometime he will mumble and I'll egg on a conversation and 9 out of 10 times I wake him up from laughing. Well tonight he just screams out "3-6-9 fuc*kers get out my face" what the hell is that???? My son is sleeping with us tonight as his bed is packed and he cracked up. Nobody has witnessed this craziness my husband does before. So im glad I finally got a witness, but it got me thinking what other strange habits people have.

So let it loose.... Anything strange you or someone you know does?

I don't know sounds like some new song. LOL My hubby does some weird stuff too. Talks in his sleep, holds imaginary glasses while sleeping asking for Kool-Aid, I say okay here and while I pour imaginary Kool-Aid and he gets "mad" when it is not grape Kool-Aid. He does some funny stuff while sleeping.

A bit O/T but when I saw your thread title I thought it was going to be about that show, “My Strange Addiction”. I saw an ad last night where the woman was wearing adult diapers and sucking a pacifier to pretend she was a baby. She said she liked being enveloped in a “warm diaper” as it made her feel "secure” GROSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSs

My husband sings and hums in his sleep lol

UGrewInMyHeart --- 13 years ago -

My hubby talks in his sleep too! LOL He used to snore pretty bad, but not as much anymore. Sometimes I talk back to him or laugh and he's a light sleeper, so he wakes up like what's so funny?! lol

susanp68 --- 13 years ago -

My daughter walks and talks in her sleep. She use to sleep walk right out of the house so we had to install chains on the very top of the doors. One times she came running out of her bed screaming something about being out of toilet paper. It is funny most of the time but there are a few times it's a little creepy.

I saw that strange addiction ad too. Some people are just weird. Some things they put on that show are so far fetched its almost unbelieveable. My daughter has an addiction to honey mustard. Lol she drinks it!! Or should I say licks it! She will get up and go to the kitchen like shes getting lemonade and grab a tub and eat it!! Driving by McDs and she will say "stop I need HM" lol very selective on the kind she likes! It doesnt sound like a bad addiction but its definatly her crack!

Guilty here--I talk/walk in my sleep and will have absolutely no memory of it the day after. My kids (when they were teens) would use it to their advantage. "Oh mom, don't you remember saying 'yes'? It was late, I woke you up?" LOL

Seriously though--it is not a habit of mine (probably not for your hubby either). I have no control over it. Wish I did!

Does sleep talking qualify as a habit? Or is it more of a involuntary thing? I've never witnessed a sleep talker, only a sleep mumbler, & I could never make out what they were saying, was never clear enough...

christina --- 13 years ago -

I can not sleep if the closet door is open. It has to be closed. I even wake up and when some one leaves it open. Hubby has tested me on this..He will leave it open and he said it took 5 minutes and then I woke up and closed it and laid back down..lol

We are just a bunch of strange ppl in this house all the way around.

On the subject of sleep, my hubby has NUMEROUS TIMES yanked the pillow right out from under my sleeping head. I am here to tell you, when you are sleeping, your head will hover briefly before slamming to the bed. I look at him and he is sleeping peacefully with my damn pillow. I snatch it back and hit him over the head with it and go back to sleep.

Haley is a sleep walker. Her last episode she ran into the laundry closet at forsyth, turned on the light and stood there screaming in terror. She also refuses to throw anything broken away. I wait til she goes to school and clean out all the broken head bands, toys, and whatever else she has hidden in her dresser drawers.

I wash my dishes with a sink of soapy water before putting them in the dishwasher...

oh and I am scared of the dark. lol.

Are we done yet --- 13 years ago -

This just made me laugh. Was kinda in a bad mood before i read this. Needed a good laugh.

I have never heard my husband talk in his sleep till a couple of weeks ago when he was dreaming about dragons!! LOL. I asked him the next day if he was dreaming about dragons he goes how did you know i go becuase you said dragon in your sleep he goes ya that was a weird dream.

I also wash my dishes in a sink full of soap and water before i put them in the dish washer. Mostly becuase I dont always get to the dishes right after dinner so then stuff gets caked on there and then you have to let them soak and scrubb them before you put them in the dish washer becuase if you dont then they dont come clean.

I dont mind the closet door open when i sleep but if my daughter gets up in the night to come sleep on my bedroom floor and my closet door is open she will close it before she lays down lol

my hubs says im difficult...lol ...like yeah i can be ...i need a fan on when sleeping and if i get too cold instead of getting up and waking up completely i just grab my hair dryer beside my bed and warm my feet under the coveres and im sleeping again but i got to feel the fan blowing on me to sleep.

the dark dont bother me i prefer it pitch black and i sleep with my closet door open.:)

My BIL will only eat a cetain ketchup and it has to be on everything which i think is odd.

You know what I do? I fill up the sink with hot soapy water right before we sit down to eat. All the kids put their dirty dishes in the water to "soak" and I generally do dishes after I put them to bed. The water helps keep the food from drying on the dishes so it helps out tremendously. Dishes are my pet peeve - they gotta be clean.

kris --- 13 years ago -

I also have to have a fan to sleep lol. I can't have open windows do to allergies so this is what I do. Another strange habit i have is I have to wrap up in a blanket to sleep ( head toe covered or I can't go to sleep. And my hubs talks in his sleep everynight. It's weird to hear his conversations because he is never talking to me...I am not sure who he talkes to but if I wake him up for being to loud he gets crabby, so I go sleep in my livingroom on those nights lol.

Misty --- 13 years ago -

I am with you Christina! I cannot sleep if the closet door is open. If I accidentally get into bed with it open I will position the blanket so I can't see the open door and then call my husband and make him close it! Once I am in bed and in the dark I get super creeped out and can't even get up to close it myself. Weird I know!

Roxyy --- 13 years ago -

Ha, well I am afraid of the dark. I always have to turn on one light before i turn off the last one. Haha, my husband and I have had some great conversations while he is asleep.

but my poor friend! her husband has "sexsomnia." i couldnt even imagine what i would do!

UGrewInMyHeart --- 13 years ago -

Yeah, my hubby is the same way with the bedroom door being shut. He also makes sure it's locked, no matter what. If i'm laying down after him he'll be like "did you lock the door?" In the beginning I was like "the front door??" "yeah, duh lol" he'd say "No, the bedroom door" lol

Jennie --- 13 years ago -

LMAO.. mine does too. My hubby that is. He will try to molest me and have sex in his sleep. Sometimes yes we do have sex (TMI I know) but it's hilarious only due to the fact that the next morning he doesn't remember a thing. Not a darn thing. He jokes that I "rape" him in his sleep. smh He talks in his sleep too, and trashes etc--but that is all due to his PTSD, not from any other unusual quirks, lol.

My oldest sleeps with her eyes open. Like really open. First time she did it at a gf's house for a sleepover, I got a call about how freaky it was lol.

My middle child is a germaphobe that she refuses to eat off of metal utensils, lol. She's gotten so bad that she will request plastic utensils to use. When we are at other people's houses she sucks it up (she was schooled that it's rude to ask for them), but at home she refuses it all them. She will purchase her own purell too with her allowance, lol. I have purell/hand sanitizer everywhere but it doesn't stop her.

lovemypink --- 13 years ago -

I usually count things...like everytime i go up the steps i count or when i walk somewhere i usually count. Lol

UGrewInMyHeart --- 13 years ago -

OMG @ lovemypink: I'm the same way!! I thought I was so weird because of that, glad to see I'm not alone lol.

Roxyy --- 13 years ago -

haha i count things too!! i used to touch everything on a shelf, but i stopped when it was time to do the shopping with a baby, there isn't enough time! haha.

i also can't sleep with my neck exposed. my husband makes fun of me all the time. i can sleep if he puts his hand on or around my neck. i feel too vulnerable!

Torri --- 13 years ago -

Lol "sexsomnia" my husband use to get frisky in the night too when he slept. Scared me to death when we were younger because when you are sleeping and kinda wake up to those actions you are not always with it enough to take precautionary measures.. Lol after i caught on it was so naked sleeping on my part!

Oh with this I have a strange habit. We use to sleep naked and we had reversed sleeping positions. I spooned him! Lol his butt was always warm lol and when I was preggo I always made him be the "spoonee" because he kept that fat belly warm!! So after that I always made him sleep naked while I was fully clothed! Even today 17 yrs later I get pissed if he gets in with clothes on!!
