So i have been doing a lot of reading about the storms that are suppose to be coming our way tomorrow. From my understanding we are suppose to get large hail up to the size of baseballs and very high winds, but no tornadoes. However I was also looking at this page which says We are in the "violent tornado" area

So now I am confused, but we haven't received any storms with the past few so I'm not really expecting anything. But I think everyone is on edge after the Joplin storm 

I agree about being on edge after Joplin, i think we *may* get a thunderstorm tomorrow but it seems like here on Riley everything has been passing us by, even the thunderstorms. 

Unfortunately Kansas storms can turn violent and into a tornado in a matter of minutes. Dont for one minute think you are safe, just prepare for the worst and hope for the best! 

It can be sunny and then all of a sudden a tornado can come so I'm always on edge for them. They freak me out because they are so unpredictable! 

Storms freak me out! Didn help I went through Joplin on my way back from Arkansas...not my smartest move today... 

Me too kandice, I absolutely hate tornado season! They give me panic attacks, if I am laying in bed and there is a storm and it gets super windy, I will have a panic attack thinking a tornado is developing....yea, its bad!

Omg, when Jason was deployed it was horrible. I swear thats when all the bad storms hit and any time the wind blew hard I freaked out. The kids slept with me a lot of those stormy nights because I was afraid I would sleep through the storm and my kids would get blown away. I prefer my hurricanes haha. 

I am absolutely scared of tornadoes! lol I have a friend coming over tomorrow to help me stay calm for my kids! lol 

usualy i dont get scared since im from this area and have seem lots of tornados but they always jumped. but this time its different with a new baby and 2 other kids on my own. im going to prepare stuff tonight and have it all ready just in case. 

I'm going to have all my things ready just in case. Always makes me nervous this time of year. 

You can't underestimate mother nature. I have my shelter ready... just in case. Hoping not to use it but would rather be prepared. You can also sign up on weather call to be called if severe weather is in your neighborhood. Storm call with call you if your street is in a direct path. Storm Call 

I use Storm Call too. It gives me a little piece of mind:) 

i use iris and really like them, their calls, text and emails are very helpful 

no no no no no bad storms :( They mess up travel :( 

I have a picture my in-laws sent me of the storms that went through Topeka this weekend. They are standing outside taking pictures of an awesome tornado...not something I want to be that close to. 

Well I hope their wont be a torando here! Im terrified of them to being im not from here dont get them where im from. I don't think were suppose to get one... 

I see a big blob on the radar, gonna go ahead and make sure the batteries are fresh on the weather radio.

Yea I am from here too which is why I am so scared of them because I know what they can do. We were hit by a tornado when I was a kid and I have been traumatized since! We have a weather radio but If I am able to know a day before a big storm I head to my parents house in wamego since they have a basement!

I had a dream I was hit by a tornado as a kid, and while it was scary and creeped me out for years (because it was a reoccuring dream), I still love storms. After this first small storm passes I might run some errands... 

I hear thunder, but it is in the distance. But it sure is dark out 

I see a big red blob right over Abilene, I hope my kids are safe.
