proud wife of a retiree --- 14 years ago -

yea my son is out in the ocean on a boat right now.. he is a marine.. but i did get an email from him at 610 saying they were all fine... he must have been reading my mind... they were just in hawaii... lol

lovelylady --- 14 years ago -

There is now a tsunami hitting hawaii from the aftershocks...not going to turn out good im afraid...and hawaii of all places :(

proud wife of a retiree --- 14 years ago -

yep.. thats why i was worried about my son.. they were just in hawaii and now on way to guam... wasnt sure what the waters would be like further out!!! That is just horrible.. I can not even imagine having your town wiped away by a natural disaster...

Proud Army Wife --- 14 years ago -

my question is when the tsumani hits hawaii and the west cost, what countries are going to send aid, help and money to America???

Latin girl --- 14 years ago -

PAW, most of those countries don't even have enough resources to help their own people. Sending help here sounds like almost impossible :(
At least we have good institutions and organizations here to provide for victims.

Praying for Hawaii, Philipines, Indonesia, and all of them expecting high waves; hopefully those waves will cause minimal damages.

My son and his wife and baby are stationed in Hawaii

Latin, Ahhh I have to disagree, but Im not in the mood today to get into a heated debate.
But I do hope everyone that is either affected or in the path of this is ok

proud wife of a retiree --- 14 years ago -

Roxanne..
Are they inland?

magenta --- 14 years ago -

Its ironic that two counties that bombed each other @ one point (remember pearl harbor & hiroshima/nagasaki) and now even though years later and bonds made they need to help each other from getting hit by the same natural disaster...more so america has to help japan due to japan being hit the hardest

magenta --- 14 years ago -

Im with latin girl. We didnt get hit nearly as hard as japan did, the only damage reported is to the harbors, which is a blessing and we had more time to evacuate and move to safer areas.

Lilspitfire --- 14 years ago -

I have heard from a friend in Hawaii and looks like things are not as bad as was expected. There is a lot of water and surges but so far not very much on the way of damages. Most of it is just flooding and such on the shoreline. If I hear anything else I will let you know.

Latin girl --- 14 years ago -

PAW, I just think it's not the time to start a discussion about help, we don't really need outsiders with this event. There is a HUGE tragedy in Japan compared to what happened here.

I am thankful that we didn't get anything compared to them and that we are capable of handling our problems.

I am fine with you disagreeing, not a problem, plus I am not trying to start a "heated debate" either, not because I am not in the mood, just because it is not my style, I am here to place comments and learn from other's opinions (sometimes) not to debate.

Proud Army Wife --- 14 years ago -

And latin if you would have read what I said was I was not getting into a heated debate, which meant I dropped the topic, so there was no need for a response

Latin girl --- 14 years ago -

Oh my bad, I wasn't aware of your authority to "drop" the topic.

Well it seems like you have a problem accepting other people's point of view, so you decide to "drop it". Like you did with Tee C, you blocked her comments because you weren't agreeing with her.
Think outside the box, instead of replying feel free to block my comments, too. Have a great day.
