My husband and I are wanting to adopt and we need as musch information and help as possible. I am trying to find a good adoption agency in KS.I need a home study done I am also trying to find out any information that anyone can give me. Does the military help with the payment of adoptions? Are there grants to help out? 

I dont know much about adoption but i do know back home there was a family that kept adopting kids from over seas she had 9 kids total and out of the 9 kids she only had 1 of them herself the other 8 were all adopted. From what i was told i have never asked her but from what i was told the state or whatever will help you with the kids and give you money to help raise them. im not for sure on that it might have been true for her becuase had 8 adopted children. VS. you adopting 1 something you would have to ask when finding an agency. I hope you find your answers asnd a good adoption agency good luck

Really??????? She never said she coulnt afford the child in the 1st place and 2nd off the person i know that had 8 adopted kids. SHe worked full time as a RN and her husband worked full time they could afford the kids its just the goverment offered to help so they took it. Not to mention would you rather have these people out there starving and dying VS putting them with a family and letting the goverment help out a little? THey are not getting the goverments help over in other countries for all these sick un healthy starved children. I know its a free country and you can speak what you want and on this form. But that comment was unessissary 

It's not our gov job to take care of other countries kids. By accepting gov assistance your accepting tax payers money. Last I checked I didn't offer to help pay for her kids either. 

I could go on with this argument but im going to be the better person and not say anything she simply asked a question and i simply told her what i know 

So, does that mean that if you need government assistance that you shouldn't have kids in the first place?

My point is even though some of us need assistance, such as WIC, doesn't mean we're free-loading, we pay our taxes just like everyone else and the way I see it, we're getting our money back!

That was a extremely rude, and uncalled for. Have you ever adopted a child? It can cost as much or many times more than simply having your own. Do you have any children? Did you pay for 100% of the hospital expenses out of your pocket? The cost for me to have one child naturally was over $15,000. Thank goodness for insurance because that's not something I can just pull out of my bank and pay in full. Unfortunately, adoption expenses aren't covered by any medical insurance companies. So before you start getting all snarky, stop and think about what's coming out of your mouth.

First off Rachel I'm not looking for hand outs from anyone. I don't need gov assistance at all none what so ever. I was told that if you are active duty then they will reimburse you for agency fees. My family is very capable of managing and adopting a child without financial help from anyone. If you was refering to me. I don't need your comment about gov assistance. It's clear that you don't know anything about adoption at all but u decided to comment and since you wanted to be included it is going to cost my family $18000 not including the Ks agency fees that we have to pay. And I would give a homeless child a better home anyday. My family has a lot of love to give and opening up our home to another child that could have been on the streets is a great thing. 

what i was going to say it wasnt our goverments job to halp out haiti either and they did right. ANd im sure you didnit offer your tax money to haiti but it happeneed anyways once you pay in in taxes that money is out of your hands and they will do whatever they please with it you or me may not agree to what they do with it but thats their choice.

So i dont know you or anything or know anything about you but your very 1st post 1 year old???? you posted that you were hoping to meet people with a child that you had a 1 year old. most people when they are looking for play dates they list all their kids ages there for you must only have one so how did you adopt a child and have a child if you only have 1 child???????????

Well lucky you. Very few of us have the luxury of being able to pay for that type of expense and that's why we get insurance! It's the same reason that I take advantage of using coupons and when my kids get old enough to go to college you better believe that they are going to be applying for GOVERNMENT grants and GOVERNMENT scholarships.

If what you say "IS" true, then girl you are a minority, and who gave you the power to tell the rest of us that aren't as rich as you that we can't have children?

Rachel its really not cute nor is it funny to lie about something that someone else feels very passionate about. Just like I said you have no idea about adoption and you got caught in your lie, and just like It'sjustlife said if you are military you didn't pay a dime. 

you came on here to make friends and try to find play dates for your child but your are on here lying about who you are and trying to cause drama no one here is going to want to hang out with you or let their child have play dates with you if all you are going to do is cause drama and lie about your life i on the other hand i did pay 100% for my 1st child we were not military and didnt have medical insurance ok i didnt pay it its sitting in collections but im currently paying a monthly payment to get my 12k dollar paid

My son was born civilian and I did have insurance, so I didn't have to pay all of it, but what I did pay sucked. I commend you for paying for it and not making the government do it. You are a better person then most. 

ya even when you are civilian and have insurance though your job its still not that great but anything would have been better then nothing like what i had i should have taken med. insurance out with my job when i found out i was pregnant oh well cant go back and change the past
