I put the cloth in the soapy water then wrung it out over the spot. I then laid the cloth on it and ran the iron on medium over it. I would re wet the cloth as needed. I did this to my friends carpe...

I used dawn dish soap,water,white cloth, and an iron. It takes a bit of time, but it works. I was able to get lots of different red stains out of the carpet! Good luck!
