Friday morning I made the mistake of taking my wedding rings off and setting them on a table within reach of my kids. A few hours later I had two delivery men in my house, placing the item right next to said table. Right after they left I remembered my rings and went to put them back on, and of course they were gone. I am 99.99% positive my youngest just moved them, but part of me questions if I just gave someone too much opportunity.
Would you call the delivery company and say something? I'm well aware that even if they were stolen (and I feel horrible for thinking poorly of the delivery men) it was entirely my fault for leaving them out.
Also, if you were a toddler, where would you hide shiny rings? (;

It is your fault for leaving your rings within reach of your children, but it is not your for leaving things out in your home. If the delivery men stole them then that is wrong and not your fault. I would look EVERYWHERE for them first and then possibly make a police report.

As for where your toddler could hide them...anywhere. My daughter like to put things in her backpack, purse, and inside her toys.

I hope you haven't taken the trash out. Check there too.

I dug through the trash first thing! Disgusting and disappointing.
The only place we haven't looked is inside of our couches. We've looked between cushions, but the way they're built it's possible they fell all the way through. Doing some massive deconstruction tonight, and probably calling the company tomorrow. My husband really thinks I was robbed, which is scarier than anything.

You're human. It's not so unusual to do something as simple as taking off your wedding rings and setting them down. If you had known the outcome of course you wouldn't have done it, so don't beat yourself up.

If you've exhausted your search and believe the deliverymen may have helped themselves, I'd have no problem contacting the moving company--but ask to speak to the owner, not a clerk. Tell him/her that you had your rings out and that they disappeared when they left, and go from there. They may be able to find out if they were stolen.

Also--and this is going to sound scary, but...is there a possibility they could be in your toddlers' tummies? They do like to put things in their mouths...may not hurt to take them to the ER and ask for x-rays if you think they may not have passed them yet.

If none of that works--pray, lol. I ask the Lord to help me find things all the time, and He delivers :)!

We found two of my rings tonight in the air conditioning vent in the wall! My engagement ring is still missing but now I'm positive that my little one just felt like playing pirate (:
I feel horrible for even thinking the delivery men could have taken the rings, I just got too caught up in the moment.
and TeeC I thought about the kiddo swallowing them too! (and every other worst case scenario!) Hubs says if he had we'd definitely know by now.

Awww, even if you can't find your engagement ring just yet, it's still awesome that you found your band.

I wouldn't feel too horrible about thinking the deliverymen took them; it isn't so much you thought it was them but the circumstances, so that isn't unreasonable.

Glad you found most of them. Like TeeC said, pray, it always works for me. Have you showed him your rings and asked him where the other one is? Maybe he show you his secret stash.

This story reminds me of the time I lost a box of checks. We had a little room that we made into an office and I always kept my box of checks in there. One day they just disappeared, a full box of checks. I was freaking out and after asking my husband and him not knowing where they were I immediately thought about one of his friends that was hanging around the house the past couple of weekends. I felt bad for thinking it but the more I looked and couldn't find the box, the more I blamed him. Just as I gave up, I went into my daughter's room and she had the box hidden between the wall and her doll house! (She was 5, so she wasn't going to write any checks, lol). I felt so bad for thinking badly about the friend. But it happens.
