I curious on every ones opinion on University of Phoenix. Is this a legit school, do jobs take careers from this school serious? I am about to start taking university classes soon and want to make sure I am going to the right school. I almost signed up with phoenix, spoke with someone and then changed my mind. I seen reviews from people that jobs do not takes these careers seriously and won't hire you.

I want to get some opinions from people who have personal experience with them. This school is much cheaper than the one I am enrolled with.

Thanks!

Two thoughts
1. U of P credits do not tranfer well to other Schools, if your plan is to get some credits but not finish with U of P then dont do it.
2. I have two friends, both of whom I went to highschool with who are U of P grads. One repairs Flight Computers for a major airline and makes 6 figures, the second worked on the Space Shuttle Program for years before becoming an Instructor at U of P. If yo are looking for Tech job and plan to finish with U of P then its fine, they will help you find a job because it helps them to employ their graduates.
Ok I now have a third thought, Its an education, go for it

Thank you, I am going for Business Administration for Human Resource Management. I am just deciding if I should switch schools while I have the chance because of the price difference.

My husband goes to UOP. He likes it. It gives him some flexibility. He has his last two classes for his Associates, then he plans on getting his Bachelors when we head back toward Texas.
I agree with GV if you plan on transferring before you get your degree, you will have a problem with their classes transferring.

I have a friend who did many years through U of P and then went to finish at a local university and she had to basically start all over again. Each state has different accredidation as well as universities and the state she was in, Nevada, does not recognize or accept U of P because of their accreditation.
I personally do not agree with exclusively online universities because I know a lot of them are no legit, can be started by anybody, and do not have proper credentials and accreditation. Make sure you investigate the school closely especially since you are spending your money and there is little recourse if things go wrong. My hubby looked at one a few years ago and they had so much negative and were being investigated by the BBB and I am thankful they only got $50 before we figured it out.

I worked Admissions at Edison University in Southwest Florida. The campus(es) host multiple university partnerships (Barry U., U. of Florida, Hodges U., and others). I can tell you, you get what you pay for; accreditation is everything. State, regional, etc., they all matter--especially in this economy.

Thanks for all the input. I may just stick with the school I planned on going too. They have campuses on the west coast but also does the distance learning so the money I'm paying should pay off.
