I'm sorry if this has been posted before but I know I'm not alone when I say don't waste my time with fifteen emails asking for particular items I'm selling if you're only going to turn around in the final email and tell me you can't afford it. Don't have the money? Inquire as to price in your FIRST email.

notsue --- 12 years ago -

Shouldnt price have been clear in the ad to start? Communication shouldnt be about price, it should be arranging to see item and or pick up item.

a4113344uu --- 12 years ago -

It was. Guess she thought I'd cave at the last second just to be rid of it.

tmmundy2 --- 12 years ago -

I dont like the people who make arrangements to come look then cancel last minute. I have a life, not a big one. But a life at any cost and my time is valuable.
Plus i hate getting out of my jammies for someone. So when someone says they are comming they betger show on time. Other wise if they show up late or reschedule sometimes i dont show.
If i go out of mu way to be where i say i will be, others should try to.
if it looks like someone wants bacm what they bought somethung for then pass on it. Its called yard sale for yard sale prices.

Agreed. I have a small child so meeting people complicates things even further. Wrestling a physically strong toddler who weighs a fourth of what I do into a carseat isn't easy on the best days. ;)

I just read my last message. It posted like babbling idiot. And that is not what i completely wrote. Promise i am not drunk.
how do you turn off spell check on phone?

MissAttitude --- 12 years ago -

lol Tm you been drinking dawn again? Lol jk ... I know my smartphone makes me look dumb, I tried telling someone I lived in colyer manor and it spelled it color manor, they responded asking if I was really on post. After explaining it was my phone, they never showed up for the item.
And to the original post, I can't stand when people will email you for 3 days making excuses, then get mad when you sell it to someone else

tmmundy2 --- 12 years ago -

Miss a yep i am hitting the dawn again, this time the strong stuff lemon scented...haha straight up no bubbles please. Haha

Has anyone here though actually upset someone when u went to look at an item and wanted to buy it. They tell you its clean hardly used.
You sgow up and the item is nasty looks as though it was rolled in filth. You apologize and use the excuse that it isnt an item that will work for you. And the person gets so pissy and pushy, that they either are down right mean or try and lower the price just so they can make a buck.
That ticks me off. 1. I have enough crap to clean. 2. If you mislead me i dont trust you. 3. Last but not least, one mans junk may be another mans treasure. But, some men can keep their trash. I can go muster some up in my own junk thank you.

I am so sick of no shows and I don't have a life lol That is all I have been getting lately!!

tmmundy2 --- 12 years ago -

Thats sad. They should have a way to flag no showers.
That freecycle site gets me. One they make it hard to post on it.
But two i am not sure but some people ask for you to give them everything. I understand needing help. But my golly i cant supply a house full. no matter how bad i wanta help.

In my experience, people know full well what the price of an item is. They just know that playing 20 questions with you is the way they can feel you out and see how susceptible you'd be to lowering the price.

Most people won't come out with "Will you take $15 off the price?" right away (because they know some people will curse them out or read them the riot act), but they'll certainly try to slowly ease their way into it.

A lady bought an item worth $100 from me that I sold for $40. I wasn't using it any longer and it was just taking up space, so I just let it go for a good price. Three weeks later she sent me an email saying "Thank you for such a good deal I really appreciate it". I replied back "you're welcome" and didn't think anymore of it. But once a week after that she'd send emails telling me what a good, honest seller I was. I read them but I wouldn't respond. Of course, after a month of this she sent me an email asking me to sell her one of my $150 items for 20 bucks. Mind you, it was worth $300 :-/. She was basically trying to butter me up to get over on me. Some people have no shame.

I agree tmmundy2 I think if you are a no show it should be reported and then if you have so many no shows you should be put on some kind of probation! Just an idea :)

Brianna --- 12 years ago -

I hate people who come for a pickup and try to negotiate in person on a lower price. Or the ones who are interested and say they want it, but cannot commit to meetup because they are busy, forgot their phone, out of town etc., but they still send an email or two a day about it. I have one of those right now and I do not hold, but as soon as I get another offer the item will be gone regardless. I have no compassion for lame excuses.

tmmundy2 --- 12 years ago -

I was going to buy an item from a lady one day and we agreed on price. I showed up and the old monkey jacked the price up. She said she missed typed. I showed her our txt where we agreed and told her thank you but no thankyou. sge got ticked bwcause i wasnt, willing to buy the whole typo tging. And she wanted more money. I think she was a little nutty. And i am not referring to an almond nut either. Lol

That's a dirty move. It sucks just as bad when a seller changes the price when you show up to pay as when a buyer tries to negotiate when they show up to pay. Glad you stood your ground. What a pantload...lol.

tmmundy2 --- 12 years ago -

Problem is i would have paid the higger price because i felt sorry for her. But when she got snotty with me and the stick in her butt got deeper. I was like nope no way. She could have taken that stick out and made it into a pencil and wrote a letter to someone who cared at that point.
I am big on helping people, but when they play games and get pissy pink with me. I become a little spider monkey on crack. I will kung fu panda someone.

Hmmm... http://fortcarson.bookoo.com/item.jsp?itemId=31191146&rf=OSI&ref=oItem

Sucks that they're letting the animal go, but the $50 rehoming fee has me curious. Wonder if they will pull the old bait-and-switch once the adopter gets there...

tmmundy2 --- 12 years ago -

Those are usually scams. I got a sick pup off tgere once. And took me 2 grand to fix him.
