PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION www.change.org UNDER PICERNE MILITARY HOUSING.

bakedbeans --- 12 years ago -

Sheesh. What did they do now?

Silverkitten (Mod) --- 12 years ago -

Picerne really is not as bad as everyone thinks. Trust me other privatized military housing company's are worse. Actus Lend Lease comes to mind.

LovMySoldier --- 12 years ago -

I would love to live under actus any day over Picerne.

I like Picerne way better than GMH.

LovMySoldier --- 12 years ago -

Where is GMH?

~*Kandice*~ --- 12 years ago -

It was at Ft. Stewart....I think they use someone else now. They sucked sucked sucked. I had a broken stove for the whole time I lived there and they would always say they were sending someone out but never did. They tried to charge me on move out day for not professionally cleaning my carpets (They were tearing them down...I was the last person that was going to live there) I had to argue with them to get them to not charge me. They were just crap. They didnt fix stuff when they said they would or they would do a crappy job. They were rude.

Oh wow! That is insane. I loved Actus up in Fort Drum, they are awesome. Picerne here is on my bad side because of the first place we moved into. It was full of black mold and they would not let me out of my lease, even the mold was found BEFORE i even moved one stick of furniture in.

Actus at Fort Hood knows about black mold in the homes here on post and won't do anything about it. They also refuse to remodle any of the homes on post and most of the homes here on post are old homes that are in major need of a face lift. They also only work from 0730 1600 when all the guys are at work and can't come in to the office. They don't work weekends. What they call community centers are very small buildings that can hold maybe 20 people at best. The people are very rude. I guess maybe the guys here just don't care like they did in Drum.

Thats wild that a company can be so different from post to post. I was a mayor for housing when we were stationed at Drum. Actus put 8,000 into remodeling each of the 2 bedroom homes when they took over there we got stationed at drum when the Army still had housing & we lived under Actus for about 3 years after they took over. See the people in Drum were very nice and they were always at the office. Now Picerne on Sill is totally different then this Picerne. They offer 3 bedrooms automatically to people with 1 child. We were offered a 3 bedroom there and I was shocked but we bought house there so we didnt live on post, but all our friends that did loved Picerne.
I have also noticed that the 2 neighborhoods that we have lived in on this post are ran VERY differently. I like the place we are now and hated our old neighborhood. Its like it was ran by a bunch of monkeys.

Thankfully we have never had any issues with Picerne. I went through mold issues in an apartment when my husband and I first got married. That was like pulling teeth. I called the office every day about it and their corporate office. Seven months later they let us break our lease and move. I guess they got tired of the complaining.

I agree that things are different between the neighborhoods here. I had positive experiences on the hill, and down here its just so-so. Nothing to cry about, but nothing to rave about either.

I have never had any issue with Picerne and have lived in 2 neighborhoods. If you approach obstacles in life with tact and show respect, then it is easier to get help in situations. Anyone who has an issue with anyone at Picerne should follow their chain of command by going to manager, main office, and then, if being treated unfairly, place an ICE comment and leave your contact information. Just my opinion...

LovMySoldier --- 12 years ago -

LOL Dess I went through all that and none worked. I do have to say though after living in 2 neighborhoods that one certain neighborhood on post gives picerne a black eye. I am very pleased in my 2nd neighborhood but the first one was a living nightmare.
