Don't yard sales require prior planning ? IE : Making signs, getting stuff gathered, laying the stuff out, attracting customers, and all of that? Or am I just crazy LOL.

Husband sprang on me late last night that we are having a yard sale this weekend, and then ridiculed me for trying to plan it, and is refusing to help.

His idea of a yard sale is throw everything out on the lawn and have people come and look at it. :/

I am in a state of WTH.

Maybe it is just a Texas thing.... the need to prior plan and organize events. in Texas if we are doing a yard sale things are organized by type, and clothing is folded and placed on tables or blankets. Items are also placed on tables or blankets, to keep them from getting dirty.

I have a feeling that he is going to be disappointed. :/

It just depends on how much you want to sell... the more time put into planning and getting the word out will result in more customers.

maybe its just me but if nothing is divided out and all the clothes men/womens and kids are all together i wont dig thru it all and i wont buy if i got to ask about every item cost wise. i want to see what people are asking for their stuff. good luck on your sale

I yard sale all the time - I don't dig through piles and I don't ask prices. So that being said, I agree with you. It takes ALOT of work to set one up appropriately.
