who has used them and what do you think? I got some to try out.

humberta87 --- 14 years ago -

I used them once and one of the bags popped a seam just putting things in it.I didn't save enough room to use them again.

LuvMyFamily --- 14 years ago -

lol we used them on our pcs move from italy to drum back in 2004 and when they opened the crate they had all broke open and it was more of a hassle then if we had actually packed our clothes in a box. It was the last time we ever used them, so my opinion isnt that great of them , sorry.

*kiowamechanicswifey* --- 14 years ago -

all of mine broke as well... waste of money if you ask me.

daisypetals2000 --- 14 years ago -

good to know... I will keep my receipt so I can take them back. lol.

Roxyy --- 14 years ago -

i used them and never had any of those issues. i've used every different size they have. i've used both the vacuum kind and the kind that you roll the air out manually. they never broke. i've used them in my suit case and in moves. they have never broken. BUT they don't flatten uniformly like in the commercial. they're all clumpy. and they get really heavy. but i kept them and will be using them again.

Misty --- 14 years ago -

I have also recently started using them and I love them! I was sold when I saw all the ones my mother in law used. She has used them for a couple of years and hers were still working. She used them to store winter and summer clothes in off seasons so they definitely got a lot of use!

~*Kandice*~ --- 14 years ago -

I used them and they were crap. You cant put as much as you would think in them. They dont stay that flat over time...they will pop back up over time. Just a waste for me.

overit --- 14 years ago -

I have billions of them. They work ok but not great. The one I do like is there tote version where the bag is attached to a tote so you close the bag then seal with tote. Its nice. We need to get more of them. The others though Im not a fan.

I saw those at walmart. I have came up with a crazy plan - I found a nursery here in KC with BEAUTIFUL, mature plants really cheap. I figured if I put all of our clothes in spacesaver bags and put them in the rooftop carrier, I could eliminate the suitcases and use that space in the back of the vehicle for plants for our new house. LOL. So as long as they make it long enough to get the rooftop carrier closed then I am good. If they rip, I will be that crazy person dragging them back into walmart telling them how crappy their product is and that I want a refund. Not sure what hubby is going to think of my 'plant' idea yet... I can totally see him shaking his head. LOL!!!

You just really need to make sure you don't over fill them! I had bought some last year and over filled it. It ripped and I took it back to Wal-Mart. This time I was very conscience of the fill line and they worked fine!

Tee C --- 14 years ago -

I love them and think they work great. The only time I've ever had a problem with one popping was when my Papa cat decided to use the corner of one as a chew toy :(. It was a large, expensive one too, that little booger...lol.

The only time I've ever read of anyone having problems with Space Bags failing or leaking is when they're overfilled, even slightly. If used properly, they work great and last for years.

LuvMyFamily --- 14 years ago -

Ours were definitely not over filled. They didn't last for years, they didn't even last through one PCS move lol. We used the ones that you vacuumed sealed, not the hand rolled ones. I guess they are either something you like or something you hate and I hate them lol

Oh no. Sorry you had a bad experience with them. Did you order yours direct from Spacebag or buy them in another store? I have heard from different people that for some reason, they're a different quality when bought from Wal-Mart as opposed from buying them direct from the company.

notsue --- 14 years ago -

When my husband packed for deployment, I bought the hefty slide lock bags, they made some that are big enough for me to fit an ACU top and bottom in together... almost close it, push out the air and then seal it... I had all his stuff in seperate lil bags, it saved space and protected from when they decide to dump it all out and make sure they packed everything on the list... I even labeled the bags... I was hoping nobody would make fun of him, and they didnt, they were happy to see someone prepared :D

No we bought them from the PX in Vicenza

I wanted to try those big hefty ones, I think I will buy one and see how it works.

Ours werent over filled either. They just sucked. I was trying to use them when we moved but they just didnt work like I wanted.

janiedoer --- 14 years ago -

I have only had one break, sort of, still use it for the blankets that are in it. The vacuum seal didn't stay (the flat style).

I have used the ones that shrink down in a cube (versus flat). I am using it again as we PCS, they fit great in duffle bags. We are putting pillows in it and then stuffing some light blankets. Let me tell you how many: 6 regular pillows, 3 small pillows, then outside the space bag but in the duffle is 4 throw blankest and 2 fleece sleeping bag liners. Stuffed solid but still really light! = )

I also like the ones that comes with its own tote.

gj8385 --- 14 years ago -

We use them all the time. Greg actually used 2 of the small ones to pack all his stuff for westpoint. He was able to get everything he needed in his rucksack instead of his huge duffel bag like all the other guys. We plan on using them to go to disney world or anytime we travel so we have more room for all of our stuff.

Cinderella --- 14 years ago -

They have always broke on me- I just thought it was me!!

Tee C --- 14 years ago -

That literally made me lol :D. I'm always so excited to try products I see on TV, then I get super salty when they don't work. Well, 95% of the time they don't work, lol.

Addie --- 14 years ago -

I love space bags! They have helped me out a ton in dealing with packing and such. We almost always use them when packing clothing and such for traveling. It's great to be able to fit a ton of mine and my husbands clothing into one luggage bag. :) Saves so much space in the car!

19Dwifey --- 14 years ago -

I also use them and havent had any problems. I will warn though... I took someones advice and used them to pack for a flight, so that I could fit more in my suitcase and while I was def able to pack more, I completely disregarded the weight issue. I had probably twice the normal amount of clothes in my luggage bc of space bags... and hello! the weight was double as well lol. Gotta be careful with that! lol. Otherwise, I havent had any issues with them.

daisypetals2000 --- 14 years ago -

I hear ya on the weight - wow... I just put our clothes in them and geez louise they are solid enough to build a fort out of. lol. :) So far, so good as far as them not breaking... A couple of the little white clips popped off, but they are still functional without those. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
