can some one please give me more information on this... my husband is in iraq and i havent spoke to him and its not like him not to call or email me.. please can some one help me

LuvMyFamily --- 14 years ago -

no one has any info yet, they have turned off the phones and internet (blackout) until the next of kin is notified. my hubby is deployed also, the only thing was released was that they were from FOB Loyalty

11BPrincess --- 14 years ago -

I haven't heard anything about this, but no news is good news right now for you. I know that's easier said than done. More than likely they are still contacting who they contact and there is comm blackout where your husband is if something DID happen. Or he could be out on a mission or just busier than normal right now. Stay strong for both your sanity and for him if God forbid something happened where he is and he needs your support. Keep your head up girl I'm sure he is ok and he will call you as soon as he can. :)

im almost postitive that my husband is at loyalty or justice

LuvMyFamily --- 14 years ago -

omg they were sleeping, god im bawling my eyes out

Meghan --- 14 years ago -

I think we all are. Ive already had an anxiety attack when I heard about it. But keep telling yourself no news is good news! and keep praying. Def wanting a drink right now.

Ottosgirl --- 14 years ago -

This is so no "unofficial information" is shared. The 2nd brigade site is down too. No news is good news... even though its torturous.

Jennie --- 14 years ago -

Exactly...and if there are no green suiters on your doorstep, then your hubby is safe. By now if he were to have something happen to him, you would have been contacted. Stay strong, this too shall pass. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of these soldiers for sure.

Missing My Soldier --- 14 years ago -

This is so tragic, is it 100% sure they were from here? either way where they were from its so sad and im praying for the families left behind and mAy the Soldiers R.I.P.

Scottysmom --- 14 years ago -

Special I agree with everyone else. You would of been contacted by now. If you have not heard from your spouse by now, don't panic. If it has hit the news, then the families have more than likely been notified.

Ottosgirl --- 14 years ago -

is it 100% sure they were from here?

I'm not so sure about that. Maybe... but I have reason to believe that another division was effected by this. Is it possible there are two divisions at one FOB?

susanp68 --- 14 years ago -

Sure it's possible....anything is possible.

11BPrincess --- 14 years ago -

The entire division may not be on one FOB. It depends on the size of the FOB but the entire division isn't deployed right now. Different brigades and battallions are gone but they definitely aren't all at the same place.

SPECIAL LADY --- 14 years ago -

i talked to a freind over there and she said that all the soliders were indeed from ft riley but from a different unit then what my husband was in, but she also said that she wasnt a 100% sure on it either, so... i figured that if i havent ben contacted yet then im sure my husband is fine and ill just have to wait for the internet and phones to be up again out there, i feel so bad for the familys of these soliders, my thoughts and prayers go out to them for sure....

LuvMyFamily --- 14 years ago -

oh my ... for once im speechless

Meghan --- 14 years ago -

I got word that if you havent been contacted yet then your soldier is safe. Yes they were from here. Yes the division got slip up in more than 1 FOB. Just send prayers for the families that were affected by this. And hang in there tell the blackout is over.

I talked to my friend from another division, and I was mistaken. Her husband is in Afghanistan. This is incredibly sad. Its hard to be happy that my hubs is OK some people have received probably the worst news of their lives. My prayers are with all the people effected.

lovelylady --- 14 years ago -

Pretty sure they are all ok from here, news would be all over it if it was here just like they were couple weeks ago...

Meghan --- 14 years ago -

They were from here.

tasteoftexas --- 14 years ago -

Here is something you can do for the future. When something happens, and his base has a communications blackout, have him go use your debit card at the px or shoppette there, so that you can see that he is ok. You will instantly see a charge if he uses it as a debit and you will have the knowledge that he is ok. Just a suggestion.

Meghan --- 14 years ago -

awesome idea! as long as your hub is at a fob where he has access to that stuff.

LuvMyFamily --- 14 years ago -

Yeah. my husband uses his eagle cash card over there

tasteoftexas --- 14 years ago -

LuvMyFamily he can use his debit card to buy something like a candy bar or something that is only around a dollar, just to show you that he is ok. Of course like Meghan said as long as he has access to a shoppette or px. It is one way to communicate when all forms of phone lines and internet are blocked. I hope it helps.

LuvMyFamily --- 14 years ago -

oh i know taste this isnt our first deployment, we did that with our last one. but this time he didnt take his debit card, hes only using his eagle cash card. My husband has been deployed for 7 months and has spent a whole total of 200 dollars there lol

militarybrat --- 14 years ago -

In my opinion guys I dont think this is the right area to be talking about this subject.

LuvMyFamily --- 14 years ago -

military no one has said ANYTHING to violate OPSEC or anything else, last time I checked this was a free forum and we are all concerned, no one has bashed anyone or anything negative. Where would be a proper place to discuss this? People are sad, worried and upset. No one is saying anything more than what the news has already stated.
