Has anyone been to Redstone. Just looking for info. Thanks. 

my hubby's AIT was there... the housing was nice... the commy was ghetto. not sure about the schools or anything because we didn't live there. Huntsville seems to have alot to offer as far as restaurants/shopping and the space center is there as well. Birmingham is 1.5hrs to the south and has an AWESOME children's museum. Nashville is a little over an hour - maybe an hour and a half to the north and has ALOT to offer as far as entertainment... 

Hubby went to EOD school there for about 4 months and has gone back for other training. I have never been but if you have any specific questions I can ask him. 

I loved it! The only thing I didnt like was the fact when we lived there in 2000 that if your home was within 5 miles of the school, you had to drive them to and from school. We lived off post and my oldest was just starting school so I am not sure if there is even a school onpost or not.

I have to say I agree with Daisy, there was alot of entertainment within an hour or so. And it isnt like Huntsville is small by no means. I think it is a nice area.

I am very jealous though because I MISS STEAK OUT! lol You will see all about Steak out when you get there!! lol It use to be a must have!
