First Management (the property management) are money hungry. If they make a mistake in the system and it says you owe money, but all your checks are there... then they will NOT fix it and you will have to pay.
They only care about one thing... MONEY and they will charge you with anything they can. Any kind of fee, etc...
They are ridiculous.
The manage the Bluffs, Founders Hill in manhattan, Chase Manhattan, Campus East in Manhattan, and Woodway in Manhattan.

I live at the bluffs and I haven't had a problem so far.. but I will say this.. they didn't build these apts well.. you can hear your neighbors movements & conversations that's the only prob I have

Keeping in mind I have been on post for 2 years now:

We lived there for 18 months, I can say that while I lived there I really didn't have any problems with the management, While I lived there that is. Coco is right, they were tossed together very quickly, and I got a brand new apartment and needed to call in work orders steadily for about 4 months before things were finally in working order. In the winter, I would have snow coming in my windows because they were not sealed well. When I called about that, the handy man said he really couldn't do anything but put up plastic because the way they'd been installed. That was frustrating because the plastic didn't do much.

When we went to move out, that was when the management and I went rounds. We even had to contact JAG. The manager kept telling us her husbands rank, and telling us she could always have her husband go to my husbands chain of command if there were things wrong even before our walk through (Our dog has escaped her cage and chewed up the carpet in the bedroom when she was a pup). We were upfront when we went to place our 2 weeks notice in and told her everything we figured we'd have to pay for, when she inspected she tried to tell us she had no previous idea that our apartment would need so much work. All they needed was carpet and we told her that 3 weeks before so she could arrange it. That came out of our pet deposit, and she she still held our initial deposit and our rent for that month (We had to pay it because the new tenant wasn't coming in till July 6th. We were supposed to get prorated rent back). When JAG got involved she claimed that she found all these other problems, but on our move out check list all she had was carpet and paint. She said we left food in the fridge, we hadn't. She said we stole tile from the closet (They never tiled our closet!) and several outlandish claims. When we asked for HER managers number she refused to give it. Shortly after being contacted by JAG we go about 1/4 the money we were owed. I just cut my losses at that point, but I would not recommend The Bluffs to anyone, Unless First Management surrenders their control of the property.

I know people had allot of break in trouble. Both in their apartments and their cars. We got hit by a drunk driver in the parking lot, and a child got run over. The layout isn't smart, especially with all those apartments.

PS- I was told after we moved out by JAG that with the growing amount of complaints they were being considered for the black list. Not sure if it was ever taken any further as its been a few years now but it was an issue 2 years ago.

I guess that didn't answer your question though, The actual apartment itself was nice as far as size and layout.

Wow! Ok well thanks for letting me know.

PCW...I had the prob with the windows..I forgot.. I was getting ice build up on the inside..the maintenance guy pretty much said there is nothing he can do about it..it's the way the apt's were built..but when I put in w/o's they usually are pretty fast..come the same day.. hope they don't give me a hard time when I leave...also don't know about the Black List thing..I'm not military but I see a lot of military families move in there.. so I guess they haven't been yet

Deer Trail Townhomes on Grant Ave are no better. Mgmt sucks and it's one problem after another. I was even told by housing they are supposedly going to be blacklisted soon. Plus you pay way more for rent then what they are actually worth!
