Hubs and I were debating this one. How many best friends can you have? Just one, and the rest are just good friends, or more than one because your just as close to those people and think they are equal? Opinions? 

The way I look at it you have a person (the one you tell everything to and nothing tears you apart) and then a few really great friends who you hang out with and talk about personal stuff but you use them mainly to vent with and you can trust them not to go and tell all your business. After that you have the coffee/playdate people that you whine to but not about personal stuff. You know the people going through the same stuff as you but you haven't yet gotten to the I can trust you completely part yet and then you have the walk by and say hi people just cause you don't want to be rude. So yeah I guess just one best best friend. Sorry this was so long.

I actually have three best friends. My hubby first and formost, followed by my bestie from childhood who knows all of my deep dark secrets short of what stays between and hubby and wife, and my bestie here who also knows all my deep dark secrets short of the hubby wife things again. Both of them are like family to me. So I would have to say yes you can have more than one best friend. 

Well My Bestest of Bestest of Bestest Friends is my Hubby, Then I have Kristle, the rest are my friends and then there are the Frienimies. I have always had 2 best friends and then really close friends....but they all moved away! and I had no friends here for a REALLY long time....But now that I have broken out of my shell, I have found new friends :) 

Same here, I have Anna of course, but I have a TON of great friends here! There are a few frienemies as well, but I still pray for them! 

Sorry I was going off the assumption that all hubbies are bestfriends thing. I think that they are in a whole other group cause a: it's a given and b: I dont really see him as anything other than my other half. I know I know very cheesy but hey I can't help it. 

lol, I know what you mean, sometimes I think Chris is in my brain, we finish each others sentences and he just "knows" things. Kristle is me in another body, I think her and I have ESP or something! lol 

Same here My husband can just look at me and answer my questions and my person calls me whenever I am down and I do the same with her. It's nice to have those people. 

Stephanie is my Bestie and has been for a while. My husband comes first though. Christina is a great friend, as well as heather. I have A LOT of good friends! Kris is a great friend and comforting to talk to. All the others are just haters. I don't believe in "frienemies" either you like them or you don't! I'm to old for the drama, and childishness. Especially of the double standards. I will not sacrifice my morals for a stupid playdate...sorry :) 

I have one really good friend and of course that is my husband. As far as female friends, I have no best friend. I dont trust any one enough to be best friends with them. I dont forgive easily. I am tried and true to a fault and expect that from friends and that dont happen often. I have mostly acquaintances. 

My hubby is my best friend. Its so funny because i never ever thought we would have stuff in common but he almost creeps me out with the stuff he says because its so like me haha. Also my little bro is my best friend...sounds dorky but he really is. I can tell him anything and he always is there to listen and help me out.Julie from back home is my bestie. We've been through to much to ever not be besties...and if we did become enemies we would have to kill eachother because we know way too much about each other. haha. i love her though she's awesome! I also have some really good friends that i have met here!!

My best friend is my Sister and my husband. My Sister knows every thing and I mean everything there is to know about me and then my husband who know almost every detail about me but a few things. I know you ladies have secrets that you haven't shared with the hubs...lol...Thats why we have besties 

My hubs knows everything, Im glad I can share my deepest with him. Nothing has ever changed the way he feels about me. I think its a unique quality in him. 

best friends can be way more than one, i have two here in fort riley, one in japan and one in georgia... so it just depends these are the ppl i know i will be talking to long after the military moves us away from eachother, the rest are aquantices! 

i have 3 best friends. all different and all mean as much to me as the next. kinda wierd cuz 2 of them HATE eachother and all 3 are completly different! 

I don't trust alot of women...there are alot of reasons why, so I have few friends, but the ones I have are genuine and trust worthy. Not flakey or one to gossip.

I have been burned to many times in the past...yet I do have a few close, great friends. Some I consider sisters in my heart of hearts, not really best friends. Best friends can come and go in your life (my belief) but sisters are there to stay regardless of distance or how long its been since you have talked. I have many women and men in my life that I know that if I picked up the phone or wrote them an email, our friendship would pick up right where we left off. I do consider my husband my best friend if I were to really have to declare one, as he knows everything about me--even stuff my family has no clue of. Although, like I said, there are those that I know I trust without hesitation, and then there are those that I keep at a distance. I am working on the forgiving part too, as its hard for me to let someone constantly burn me without me lashing out. I may in the end, forgive, but I never forget. 

Also I forgot to say, I don't do "high maintenance" friendships...but I have to explain that to many a person. By "high maintenance", I mean someone that constantly needs validation of your friendship, a constant hand held, and is always needy. If you are my friend, you will be told and should know that I will always be there for you, my honesty will be forthcoming, and I will never divulge your secrets. I only ask for the same. I also should not have to talk to you every single day for you to know that I care about you. It should be a given if I am your friend.

I am with Ginger I also dont do "high maintenance" friendships. I am not high maintenance so I dont want a friend like that. 

I also should not have to talk to you every single day I can't stand when ppl do that! I have several best friends. They are all childhood friends, and keep my secrets and I keep theirs. (even amongst each other) So I think you can have more than one best friend, but maybe thats just me.
