Ok so my weight battle started after kids tried everything.
But what i did to finally beat it. No i dont need to hear i did it the unhealthy way either. I did this under a doctors care.
I took the hcg shots for 30 days and followed the 500 day calorie program. Truly i ate all day and wasnt hungry. I went from 145 to 135 in that 30 days i took a two week break then did it again. I went from 135 to 120 in the next 30.
Then i began raspberry keotones two in the morning and two hydroxy cut max for women. I am now at 107 wich is what i should weigh. And stable.
Its been two yrs and i am keeping it off. Also a cup of ballerinia tea a day keeps the weight monster away.
Thought i would share because what i did worked for me. And it may or may not work for you.

militarybrat --- 12 years ago -

I have never heard of that before. I am 144 now after kids and I want to get down to 120 where I was before kids. but dont want to do it the unhealthy way. I will have to look into this with my doctor

Talking Weight issues: PCOS, Hysterectomies, and the like...

Skinny folks gain weight after hysterectomy; heavy folks lose any? Any healthy, non-depressed beings maintain there health and wellbeing following the procedure?

tmmundy2 --- 12 years ago -

I had a hystorectomy in my late twenties. So i didnt loose any. But i also kept one ovary. I actually was happy after mine. No more visits, cramps, or cancer.
I know my sis in law lost it all and refused estrogen and poor thing weight has been a major struggle along with depression.

tmmundy2 --- 12 years ago -

The hcg diet you have to look at it different angles. Its the human growth hormone that u produce while pregnant. I know walmart sells a form of it. But i dont know if its real or works. It taste gross i can tell you that.
And i recommend finding a clinic and a doctor that does it to help watch you.
After the shots you may jave to do a steak day here ot there.that is where if you gain ywo pounds you go all day no food, but at dinner you eat the biggest steak you can get your hands on and eat it all.

tmmundy2 --- 12 years ago -

I am not promoting this in any way i am just sharring what worked for me. Thats all.

No more annual pap with one ovary?

How does the estrogen work after surgery? Did she refuse b/c of its link to cancers?

tmmundy2 --- 12 years ago -

I honestly hadnt had a pap since mine in 05 i guess i need to find out if i need to do one. I should ask my doc since i have the one ovary. I dont know why they would look at an empty hole but i hadnt ever asked either. I tell my doc every time i go in for check up that i had the plumbing taken out and all i have os the play pen left. And he never once asked to check it out. Just my ta ta exam.

My sis in law complex female. I think she was, upset by her removal she really had no chance to take it in before it happened. No time to greeve. But i think she recused hormone therapy because one she would forget to take it, and two she figured her body would adjust on its own. No one has told her but her body hasnt adjusted. Now that woman ,an snap in a sec and throw a frozen turkey at your head for saying hello in the wrong tune. I love her but i wish she would take aome form of therapy they even have cream now....
i love her but she really kinda went nutty after...i did ask her once why she didnt take something for her moods. And she said she was afraid of either growing facial hair, or going even more nuts and doing something crazy.

tmmundy2 --- 12 years ago -

R u thinking of estrogen.....i dont believe link to cancer. You can get cancer from using a rubber maid container now a days.
Estrogen is easy yhey take blood levels and then they give u the dosage you need. You can do shots, pills, creams, and eventually get off of it and go thru the lovely second phase of life called menopause....wich i am in now, i have started gracefully. By the way i am 37 shhhhshhh but my ovary is not working and producing so i have begun the crying jags, hot flashes oh lets not forget the paranoia that comes with ot haha...its actually kinda fun. I yell at my husband and he cant hold it against me....haha

MissThe80s --- 12 years ago -

Estrogen IS linked to cancer.

I want to know about post-op; preferably about stable folks doing well after.

tmmundy2 --- 12 years ago -

I dont know of anyone before survery taking estrogen.
I am stable doing great.
My mom she took estrogen yrs ago and now she doesnt and she is doing fine. Harder to loose weight but she is stable.
My sis in law stable to a point.
Your body produces estrogen so why be afraid of a supplement.
If you have it done, wich i had a tumor that caused me to have mine done. I dont regret it.
As far as health issues i do have chronic sourjions o may have spelt that wrong. But thats genetic.
you do know they have new ways and different proceduers they can do. Now they can reove the uterus linning. I had a friend do that in place of a hysto

MissThe80s --- 12 years ago -

Estrogen is prescribed to women with irregular uterine bleeding; to make heavy bleeding stop.

tmmundy2 --- 12 years ago -

I never got that..and before i haf my removal i was like a flood. And other women i know that went thru the same thing didnt get that option. My one friend acutally had to use her daighters diapers and she could fill them. Docs at irwin didnt do crap for her.

MissThe80s --- 12 years ago -

Good thing I'm seen off post. c;

tmmundy2 --- 12 years ago -

She went off post finally and they removed the linning of uterus for her.

Missthe80s...
I had a hysterectomy in 2010 and Dr. Sessions stated to me that I should have paps done until I had 3 normals in a row... I just had mine done in late Dec. so just waiting for results..

Tee C --- 12 years ago -

I am having ablation surgery next month--and thank God. I've been getting my period since 8 years old, so 29 years later I think I deserve the break. My periods are a nightmare. They're always heavy, cramp-filled, they come when they want--and sometimes I get them twice in a month. When we got here I finally found a group of doctors willing to help me and not just say "Well, heavy periods can be normal in some women" or "You aren't losing as much blood as you think you are". Turns out that I have a fibroid in my uterus the size of a cantaloupe, and that is what caused my heavy bleeding. It's not great news, but I'm so happy because at least I now know I'm not nuts.

tmmundy2 --- 12 years ago -

Oh teec i feel for you. I feel bad for any woman who suffers from the monthly visit when she isnt so nice.
My hysto was a blessing. I was happy when the nightmare was over. Due to so many years of buckling pain. I had mine done at irwin cal. And my doc was amazing. Only issue is now i have to get my bladder relifted and a new kidney stint.
some women feel like they are loosing something when they have to have a hysto. I just tell them all the upsides to it. No more cramps, heavy bleeds, and mostly no more bc issues.

MissThe80s --- 12 years ago -

It's not great news, but I'm so happy because at least I now know I'm not nuts.

It takes an endocrine specialist and lab work drawn up to get lazy docs to acknowledge you're not nuts and they're undereducated.

Ten years ago most docs gave you a stupid look when someone mentioned PCOS.

I'm thinking of BadLuckMommy's pic. You know the one I'm talking about?

proud wife of a retiree --- 12 years ago -

I had mine done here at Ft Riley and never had anyone say anything to me like that... Dr Sessions ordered an internal and that is when they found I had endometreosis and fibroids... 2 of them.. given my family history, I opted for the hysterectomy... he did give me all my options and I got to choose which one I wanted to do...I was like.. take it... and I am so glad I did.. and while there they pinned my bladder back up!! I have never had a bad experience here at ob/gyn...

MissThe80s --- 12 years ago -

Pinned bladder? Sounds like something me likey! No more every other minute potty breaks at the mall?

proud wife of a retiree --- 12 years ago -

lol... no... it was nice to have to not worry about " oh shoot... if I sneeze am I going to do the leg crossing!!" thing!!!

MissThe80s --- 12 years ago -

How long from the time you were told you needed your procedures did it take for you to actually have the surgery? How long were you in hospital?

proud wife of a retiree --- 12 years ago -

Ummm.... not long... I got my results of the ultrasound... dr gave me my options... then I dont even think it was a month between... I wanted it done as quick as possible as I work for a school and had christmas vacation for recovery time.... I think I was in the hospital for 3 days.. but i had a issue with bleeding and they wanted to make sure I was not going to need transfusion... so I think I was there a day longer... if they go up through the vagina, it really is not bad at all... at least I did not think it was.. sorry if thats TMI

tmmundy2 --- 12 years ago -

They took mine out thru my va j j to and it was not bad at all.

proud wife of a retiree --- 12 years ago -

Right!!! Much better than being cut on the outside!!!
I was glad!!!

Dr. Lett vs. Sessions?

Can someone please explain why there are no female docs available in Gynecology on this God forsaken post for over a month?

Do folks living out in Abilene still have to go through Irwin for speciality care?

tmmundy2 --- 12 years ago -

I am so thankful to hear i am not the only one uncomfortable with a male gyno. I personally perfer a female just due to the fact that i dont want a man down there that i barely know. Put a ring on it first hahaha...a woman doesnt bother me because she has one to. Haha

proud wife of a retiree --- 12 years ago -

I do not know Dr Lett but Dr Sessions was awesome... and put me right at ease.. he honestly is a great ob/gyn... but I just had my yearly done on 21 Dec and I saw a female... she was very nice... her name escapes me at the moment, but she was awesome.
