Someone on here should know, there is a special name for a quilt that has interlocking rings sewn into it. What is that called?

Afgan?

No its a quilt but the pattern has interlocking rings, I think it has something to do with weddings

Sweet. Where do you find out about auctions at?

Garbage Vulture --- 12 years ago -

I check local newspapers, Auction zip.com, I have people (very nice people by the way) who let me know about them on here. Plus over the years I have built a network of Auctioneers who will call me for these.

If your quilt is handmade, machine sewn, or commercially made it makes a difference on the resale value. Handmade are high in demand and fetch a pretty penny.

IM pretty sure its handmade, all of the items in this last unit indicate it was from an old couple.

Antique even better! Be very careful if you take it to a dry cleaners, probably not a good idea. You can tell by looking closely at the stitching...it will have small variations and size and width and seam allowance will not be perfect and uniform. Pottery barn has their quilts 'hand sewn' in China to mimic this and that is why they charge an arm and leg despite being commercially made.
