I actually miss some of the small town living.. Lol. It's so hard to find simple things here in Dallas. Like pumpkin patches for example...not so easy to find.

What are some of the things you miss from your last duty station or your hometown?

EVERYTHING from my hometown haha. I so sick of this place. I miss the simpleness of it. I miss it all haha.

Junction City, Kansas was the smallest town I ever lived in (even smaller than Barstow, California and Harker Heights, Texas) and the only (and I do mean ONLY) things that I miss from that area are the T-La-Ree Consignment Store, the DAV, the park across from Kite's (because I used to go there to sit and read), and MENARD'S! There is no Menard's here and I am heartbroken :(. DANG I miss those Menard's trips.

I would love to come back there but anywhere in the states would be better than the place we are at in Germany. I mean their is so much to see and do in Germany and surrounding countries would be a good place for vacation but I'm not digging living here.

I'm from Tulsa, and in Muscogee (a town by Tulsa) there is a castle that is a great haunted house during Halloween. They also dress it up for Christmas, do it up big for the 4th of July, and have a Renaissance festival there every year. I miss that!

I have to say that I do not miss anything from Fort Riley or Kansas itself. It was too counrty for me and nothing to do and nothing close around without a drive. Plus I hate tornados. Hurricanes I can do but tornados are a no no

Every hurricane I've sat thru has sent plenty of tornados past the house...

I do agree about the drive tho.

We moved to Fort Riley from a small town in Texas whos population sign said 632. If I was from there, I'd be excited to be here... but I wasnt. I grew up in the SF Bay Area in Cali and I miss it everyday.

The Sergeant Major went to COL Custer and said "Sir, I have bad news and good News", "The bad news is there are 10,000 Indians out there and we will most likely die", "The good news is we dont have to go back to Fort Riley"

Lol Its not just about Ft. Riley, any duty station. I miss Shoguns and Ryans from Ft. Benning. I miss the weather when we were stationed in Hawaii. I miss the culture from when we were stationed in Germany. I am blessed to have been able to travel the world and take from each place I have been to.
