Has anyone had experience with purchasing cars off Craigslist from Lincoln, NE? What was the process like and how expensive were the taxes, etc. to register back in Kansas? I know this varies by vehicle but trying to get a big picture idea... 

I purchased a car from MO... I recommend buying from a private seller and having them put a lesser amount on the title than what you actually paid and things arent that painful. 

I agree with notsue. I know when I was 17 we got a car for me for $500 from our older neighbor (whose wife passed away and only needed 1 car). It was only $500, but he still put "gift" for the amount paid to him.
