I called Verizon yesterday an finally complained about the fact that my service is horrible here. They were very understanding and agreed that they have hardly any coverage here. They said there are no towers and they rely on other companies towers to give us our signal. Well, they put in a trouble ticket and called me back today. They said I can cancel both of our lines for free! They said they aren't going to make me pay when they don't have any coverage here. So, if you are having the same problems as me (I remember someone else compaining on here), then give them a call, and I bet they will do the same for you.

Kudos to Verizon for not being difficult at all!

Wow that is so odd I have had Verizon for years and we got here in April 2010, we have never had any problem with them here. Our calls never drop or break up. We live on post and I can get 3g and full bars even in my house.

I have to agree with LMS. We switched to Verizon when we found out we were pcsing here because they had the best coverage. Although, they've always been very accommodating so their response to you was not surprising. They are a great company IMO.

We had an opposite problem but with AT&T. We had it when we moved here and was getting no service. Called and they told us that they had didn't have 3G here yet (Why the closest store was Topeka and the one in Manhattan was only there because they had 1 tower there...there are no stores in JC because legally they can't have a store where no coverage is) and since we had smart phones we had no choice but to pay for them even though they admitted there was no service they told me quote "It's no our fault you moved to an area with no coverage". That right there made me mad enough to cancel our service from which they informed me they were going to charge me $200 per line. I told them that I was no going to be paying that. If they didn't want to let me out of our contract because we had no service, I was not going to pay for 2 cell phone plans because that one we could barely call out or get calls. The dropped it and I never got charged but not without a fight. I have had Verizon for 2 years and never had one problem here.

I live in Warner Heights. I am not joking when I say that every single conversation I have my call drops. I am lucky if it only drops once. It is very annoying. I switched to them because I thought they had the best coverage too. I was shocked when my phone calls were always dropping, and people will call me and I would never get the call, just the voicemail. I guess I thought they would give me more of a hassle because of he way ATT used to treat me too. I am glad though, now I don't have to pay and arm and a leg for awful service.

We have had Verizon for a long time... years and never had any problem.. I will say this tho... we had a motorola phone and then this last time, we got an lg... I will be going back to the motorolas cause they seem to be better phones... I believe the signal is better on them then the lgs... if that makes sense!!

UGrewInMyHeart --- 13 years ago -

That totally makes sense proud. When I was with Verizon years ago one of the reps even told me that. When my mom and I had Verizon sometimes she'd have service and I wouldn't (sitting right near each other) and vic-versa. I honestly prefer LG, I never had any luck with Motorola =(, but it all depends on your area and of course your preference when it comes to phones. Now I have a blackberry and will never switch to anything else lol.

There are certain brands that do get better signal than others. LG is prolly one of the worst. ;) Sanyos were always good, we've had good luck with HTC, Samsung, and Sony also along with Motorola.

Thanks for the input... I know that I am going to get a new phone when I can upgrade, which is soon... I cant complain too much about my phone cause i did drop it in my grandsons bath water (oppps) and after leaving it in rice it still works... so I was very glad for that... lol... but I will be getting a different brand this time around.. was actually thinking about Droids...

We live in McClellan area. I agree about the models of phones, we had an HTC and would get a signal in our house but not 3g. Then we switched to a Samsung Galaxy S and now we have a strong signal and 3g in our house.

We have Verizon Wireless and live in McClellan and we get no service whatsoever in our house. We have to leave our house to get any reception. We haven't called them yet about it, because we just moved in. Hopefully they are as nice as they were to Jan!

When I got here in 06 we switched to Altell from Sprint because we were having issues with sprint, now that Verizon bought out Altell we still have great service and whenever we have had an issue they have fixed it for us.

We just moved into Ellis and our signal sucks! In Manhattan never had a problem....not happy
