I love it! They have one in Manhattan and when we get back from Koera we are planning on buying things from there to remodel our house.

I have been to the one in Manhattan. They do have some really good things sometimes, but of course since it's donated items it can be hit or miss.

I will tell you this, though: if anyone is remodeling a home and they need interior doors, kitchen/bath tile or carpet, that would have been the place to go. Fort Riley donated tons of brand new carpet to them, and someone else donated pallets and pallets of beautiful tile. Really good deals, too.

Yeah I went to the one in Manhattan few times looking for a washer and dryer. Pretty neat place to have. Things like appliances, esp w/d go fast. I like them because they test everything to make sure it works and if it doesn't they either fix it or just part it out / don't sell it. I feel safer buying from somewhere like there compared to paying the same price to buy a w/d from someone that and never know what 'could' be wrong with it.

I didnt even know there was one around here...i love home improvement stores and its suppose to be cheaper so this could be a curse/blessing in the terms of a project lol

UGrewInMyHeart --- 13 years ago -

Yeah they're a lot cheaper. I didn't look at all the stuff, but I saw stuff like hanging lights, cabinetry, appliances, and even furniture. Not too bad of a place and the profit they make is for a good cause =)

UGrewInMyHeart, that's right, I forgot about the cabinetry. If someone needed cabinets for a home workshop or office, that would definitely be a good option to get them on the cheap.

The Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Baltimore has amazing deals! A friend who flips houses often gets his materials there, and he bought a barely-used set of cherry, dark-stained cabinets for a flip house (complete with new, stainless steel knobs) for $1,500. I was so jealous, lol!

where is the one in manhattan? I didn't know there was one either.

Tee C --- 13 years ago -

armywife523, it is kind of secluded, on a side street near the Home Depot. If Home Depot is on your right, then you keep going until you get to the car dealership. Make a right there, then go down that road and it will be on your right. If you hit the church, you've gone too far.

The volunteers are the sweetest, kindest people. You can tell they are doing what they do because they care.

Last time I checked the one in Manhattan is only open on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month and from 8-2 or something along those lines. Call before heading that way to make sure they're open!

And the street it is on is Amherst Ave

Very true. They were talking of expanding it to being open 3 days a month but last I heard they hadn't done it yet. Oh yes: if you aren't going to just look around and want something specific, call ahead. They'll be very honest and tell you exactly what they have in at the time.

UGrewInMyHeart --- 13 years ago -

It's open Thursday and Friday 12-5 and 1st & 3rd Sat 8-2. When I've went it was on Thurs / Fri and it's on their site =)
