Ok last oct our pup got parvo,I took him to the vet they treated him for over a week and he lived. The vet said he wont get it again but now hes got the runs and it stinks sooo bad! Its not consistent but he did it tues night and now again early this morning. Could it be parvo AGAIN???

is he thowing up? is he eating? I would say if he isnt thowing up and is still eating then he probably doesnt. My neighbors dog had parvo and that dog was thwoing up yellow, not eatng or drinking and also had the runs. her husband keep telling her it was parvo but she didnt belive him till they took him to an emergancy vet if they had not taken her when they did it would have been too late. But i could be wrong if you are unsure i would see if there is a vet that can get him in today

He might just have the runs. Has he had his parvo shots?? Those are super super important. I dont let my dogs in any grass until they've had all their parvo shots. I would watch him and if he isnt wanting to eat or drink take him in to the vet. A lot of times when they start showing signs of parvo it can be too late.

hes actually HAD and SURVIVED parvo and yes hes had shots I may just be freakin out for nothing .hes eating like always drinking playin like the crazy fool he always is

@Roxanne have you recently changed his food?

I only say this because since he has had Parvo and survived then it is very unlikely that he can get it again. Once a dog has had parvo and has been seen by a vet and vaccinated then their body becomes permanently immune to it. The diarrhea can be caused by a number of different things, dehydration and if he is dehydrated then I would suggest doubling his water intake or pedialyte or Gatorade. It could also be his body healing from parvo so its a number of different things that it can be.

The doggies at the on post animal shelter have Parvo too, or something. There is a sign on the door that leads back to the animal shelter part that says....

"due to an outbreak of Parvo, dogs are unavailable for showing until further notice."

Poor dogs! I hope they are ok!

actually yes Diva I did buy different food its a moist kibble type food tues night he had the runs so yesterday I went and got dry pedigree kibble and he had the runs again this mornin so it may very well be just that

Anytime you change your dogs food, it will upset their stomach. Try mixing on some plain yogurt when starting him on new food. It will ease the stomach issues. Also works well on pets with the runs!

When they are sick boiled ground beef (make sure to boil it to get the excess fat out) and rice is a great way to help bind them up. Hope your pup feels better soon!
