My husband and I are looking to switch cell phone plans when our contract is up and I was wondering if anyone has Boost Mobile. How is the service coverage and prices. We are looking for a good family plan with a well priced service. If anyone has suggestions of a good service to look at please let me know.

We use and like Sprint...we have three smart phones with unlimited data, texting, mobile to any mobile, and 1500 minutes for about $99-$105/month (depends what the kiddo downloaded that month). The plan is $69/month, and then we add the unlimted texting, insurance (teenager, lol), and the third line. With the military discount and taxes, our bill sits right at a $100/month. For us, that is cheap. We were with Alltel and then Verizon bought them out. Our bill with them (without smart phones) was close to $180/month. Crazy!

I really like Sprint, but I am sure there are other good deals out there. Good luck!

YR: what plan are you on?! THAT'S PRETTY GREAT! In our apartments we have HORRIBLE SERVICE (only place we DON'T get service pretty much) the one place we are the most we cant use our phones, it sucks! I was looking into sprint and looking on there right now and I pulled up the "Everything Data Plan (1500 mins)" for 2 lines unl messaging/web/data Any Mobile, Anytime and it's $129.99! =( That's before tax and before military discount, but I wana know how to get 2 smartphones for roughly $100 a month =) We'll def switch then lol

I wonder if they raised the price? When we got on board with Sprint a little over a year ago that plan was $69.99. Bummer, but I understand...they are one of the only carriers offering unlimited data anymore. I do know if you go in and talk to them, they will offer you all sorts of deals. We went into the Topeka Mall store just looking and thinking, and the guy gave us all these deals...like $30 off our first bill, no activation, bill discounts, and $100 off each new phone. Since we weren't ready to decide he wrote it on his business card, and the JC store honored all of his promises for us. We were also placed on the premier membership so one phone (we chose my hubby's) gets more frequent upgrade discounts. I hope ours doesn't go up when we renew our contract next year. :( I would go in and see what they will do for you...it never hurts to ask! :)

That's true, I've noticed most of the time prices vary from online / instore. It's worth a shot. Thanks :)

We are switching to Sprint when our contract is up. They are much cheaper and still have a military discount. I think they have reaised their prices a bit, but nothing compared to ATT and Verizon.

Walmart family mobile is great!! 2 phones unlimited talk and text 70.00 and u get internet as needed from 10-40. Extra. I have an iphone amd use it All the time for everything and we spend maybe 20.00. Last month my bill was 84. You just get internet as you need it

UGrewInMyHeart --- 13 years ago -

Yep! We spend $86 and some change never over! The ONLY downfall to it (for us) is these crap apartments - we have HORRIBLE service in them :(

UGrewInMyHeart --- 13 years ago -

I actually need to get a diff phone soon because I have the BlackberryCurve from when we were w/ tmobile and to use internet on it you need the whole blackberry data plan :( but its okay :) lol

Torri --- 13 years ago -

I think u can unlock them like we dud for the iphone

UGrewInMyHeart --- 13 years ago -

Yeah mine is unlocked I unlocked it to use it w/ WFM, but w/ blackberry's you cant use data on it unless you have a blackerry data plan or use wifi

Hi I am the one that works the connection center at walmart. I can answer any questions that you might have as far as plans and coverage areas and who has the best plans. Walmart's Family mobile is a great plan it runs off the T-mobile network. You can use any Unlocked Tmobile or Att phone because those carriers use a sim card and with Family mobile you have to have a phone with a sim card slot. We also have family mobile phones. If you are just starting out you have to buy the activation kit for $25 dollars and if you don't have a phone you will also have to get a phone. You do not have to pay your first months bill. Verizon has great coverage area also. If you have any other questions I'm the one to talk to. Have a great day everyone

Bdiva: Since you work there can you help us get service in out apartment? LOL jk That's the ONLY problem we have...the one place we are the most we can't use our phones. It's okay because you can't beat the price =)

Roxyy --- 13 years ago -

We have Boost, the only time we had an issue with sefvice was one of the older phones didnt work in our apartment. but since then they have gotten rid of that phone.

my dad lives next to the mountain in az and only verizon works out there, but boost did too.

we still have it, no issues with service. $50 a month per phone, but you have unlimited EVERYTHING. its amazing. we both have the samsung galaxy which was $180 at best buy, but dont regret it at all. and with boost, if you pay your bill on time 6 times in a row, they take $5 off your payment. so in 6 months is goes down to $45, then $40, then $35, they stop at 35, but thats an amazing price for unlimited everythin!

We have verizon pre paid and love it. we have unlimited minutes, text, and web for 100 a month and we get a signal everywhere even in our house.

EmilyS88 --- 13 years ago -

I have verizon and have crappy signal in my house.....waste of money now

notsue --- 13 years ago -

I'm a happy Sprint customer of over 10 years now, but if I was shopping around, I wouldnt mind using Boost. (Same network)
