We're in need of a washer and dryer or even JUST a washer. I've been looking around and haven't had much luck. I've checked Re-Store in Manhattan and only have dryers and 1 washer out of our price range right now. If you know anyone that is selling a SET (washer & dryer) or JUST a washer for $100 (possibly $150 at the most) or LESS OR know of a place that sells them. I don't care how old it is (just not from like the 1950's LOL) and as long as it works and nothing's wrong with it. I know I'm not looking to spend much, but we don't want to spend money to have to keep fixing it too :) Any help would be great. Thank You in advace!! =) Either inbox me HERE or leave a comment.

You could always go to aarons or rent a center, get new ones and just pay like 50 a month? No credit needed.

An idea, bookoo usually has a few up a week.

Rubies87 --- 13 years ago -

heres one for 175... maybe they will go to 150? all you have to do is ask

Oh no rent to own places. Way too much money and a big 'ol scam lol. Yeah I saw both of those - dryer is sold and I really like it, but now after looking at finances wish I could get that washer there for $100 :( Oh well...I'm try and see what that person says =)
Thank You both :)

There is a used appliance store in Jc. i bought a dryer from there and it has been doing just fine. They also deliver. I just cant remember the name. Its is on the street that runs parallel with Washington at like 9th street maybe. Its a little hole in the wall but they have lots of stuff and guarantee it for 60-90 days

UGrewInMyHeart --- 13 years ago -

YEAH!! One of my hubby's battle buddies and his wife told of about back in the spring and I never was able to find out the name. lol. I remember them saying they sell washer and dryer sets for like $125...does that sound about right (if you reacall?)?

Lilspitfire --- 13 years ago -

Yeah that is about right. I think I paid $120 for just the dryer but i got a super heavy duty commercial one.

UGrewInMyHeart --- 13 years ago -

Oh okay. I'm going to try and find it this week. Wish me luck...I'm guaranteed to get frustrated, lost, and give up LOL jk
Thanks

Martinez in JC is a rent-to-own but the price is the same over time, not like RAC who charge MORE over time. Low monthly payments, they deliver for free and you know it would be new stuff that you won't have to worry about breaking and needing new ones in a few months. Good luck!

UGrewInMyHeart --- 13 years ago -

We actually went to martinez when we first got here, we didn't realize it was a "rent to own" and we didn't like it too much. I'm just looking for a cheap set or cheap washer by itsself. Rent to own is such a scam and thats the last thing we need, another bill lol. I'm sick of e-mailing people about ones posted on like CL and NEVER even get a response back uggh

19Dwifey --- 13 years ago -

Im not sure why you think 'rent to own' is a scam. RAC is because they charge you one price if you pay up front and almost twice if you pay over time. But Martinez is the same price. It's basically just buying it on credit. But, to each his own I guess. I never have any luck at all on CL. Have you tried posting an ad in the wanted section of RYS and CL as well? Maybe that will help. I dont post things for sale on those sites, but I do go on and look to see what people 'want' and if I have it, sometimes it works out. Hope you find what you need soon. The laundromats are such a pain in the butt!

My sister's went through Rent-A-Center and Aaron's and even the cash price was almost if not double what she would have paid at a regular store. Also someone we know recently got a tv from Aaron's and the cash price was still at least $500-$600 more than a regular store. Just ridiculous in my opinion. I've heard of a couple that did get a good deal on at a rent to own type place on clearance full "apartment" set of bedroom, kitchen, living room for little over $1500. That wasn't too bad, but if I had to go through one of those places I'd just save up and get it way cheaper elsewhere. Yeah I don't usually have too much luck on CL, bit more luck getting ahold of people on RYS. I'm going to keep checking around. Didn't mean to come off rude saying it's a scam :)
Thanks =)

Tammy --- 13 years ago -

I bought a used set yesterday but had a guy email me pics on a set for 100, if you would like the number I will give it to you

notsue --- 13 years ago -

I agree that the cash price in most RTO stores is higher than elsewhere. Sometimes they try to protect themselves by offering a model that isnt available other common places, but if you go down the list of features you can find a comparable model, even same brand elsewhere and for a better price.

Jims appliance I got my set there yesterday for 350

UGrewInMyHeart --- 13 years ago -

Thank You Tammy!! Appreciate it lots! :)

Tee C --- 13 years ago -

Tammy, do you know if they also do appliance repairs as well? Thanks!

UGrewInMyHeart --- 13 years ago -

TeeC: when I was google-ing I found it and the full name says "Jims Appliance Repair". If they don't do repairs they should change their name lol

No I agree with you about RAC and Aarons. I dont know. I found a dining set at Ashley furniture but it was going to take forever to order it. I found it on display at Martinez and the price was the same as the Ashley store. They just let you pay it over 12 months. They dont do it the same as RAC and Aarons. Either way.. hope you find what you need!

UGrewInMyHeart --- 13 years ago -

Oh okay gotcha. See those aren't bad deals, but we have enough bills so if we want something fancy we'll have to be waiting/saving for it =( lol Yeah so I found a nice set in Salina for $100, right, BUT then my hubby's like (after we told her yes about getting it) he says oh well lets just wait and save some more like maybe payday get one...uggggh men sometimes lol(that's why I locked topic lol)

Jims appliance is a great place to buy any used appliances and he does repairs too. We met him when we got back from Germany and needed a washer and dryer and he even delived on post back than, do not know now and if we ever had problem with anything we just go over there and ask for help or advice, even when my stove start smelling like gas and we were freaking out he came the same day and fixed it. By the way he works with Picerne a lot, so if they have appliances they are trying to get rid of or any of the hotels on post they are calling him and he is picking them up and if they are broken he is using the parts for repairs. So if anybody needs an appliance fixed he is the man to go to. His store is on Jefferson right next to the church, do not remember the name - just next block north of the municipal building and fire department.

125$, older set

UGrewInMyHeart --- 13 years ago -

Thanks, but we decided we're going to save a bit more and get one later :-/ glad we did, we had a couple unfortunate expenses come up yesterday =(

DollLikeDeceptions --- 13 years ago -

I didn't read all the comments so I'm not sure if anyone already said this but about a block north of the fire house in JC there is a used appliance store. We got a really nice set for 300.00 and he delivered it, set it all up, and we have a year warranty on them.

Tee C --- 13 years ago -

Thanks so much to everyone for the information! Senior (or Juniorette) fried the above-the-stove microwave, and I'd really rather have it repaired than buy a brand-new one. Prayerfully Jim will be able to fix it (and for a good price).

UGrewInMyHeart --- 13 years ago -

Thanks Doll when we do actually go look around payday I will def be checking that place out!! :) Just this long (almost) 3 week stretch between payday sucks :(
