So we got orders to go to Campbell...report date is in January. I haven't ever been there and was wondering if anybody has. And if anybody has any experience having the movers move you further than in town. I don't want to be without our stuff so we're thinking about doing it ourselves, we know people here that will help but not there of course lol, so just wondering if anybody had any thoughts or advice about it. Have found a campbell underground but doesn't seem near as good as this one lol but I just found it yesterday so maybe that's not the case and just what it feels like to me. Any comments would be appreciated.t Thanks! 

We were there in 87-92...
I know, dating myself... but it was by far the best place we have been... we loved it there... We had actually thought about moving there when we retired but didnt.. stayed here... I probably cant be much help cause it was sooo long ago, but we loved it... 

I grew up at fort campbell and I miss it Tere is so much more to do there and in my opinion the people were way more welcoming than here (again just my opinion) As far as moving if you can get a uhaul and do a dity then I would do it. We did a partial when came here and made some decent money. Good luck at Fort Campbell land :) 

We were stationed there from mid 2000-2006 and we loved it!!!! Really do miss it alot! Lots of stuff to do and the weather is much better than here. You don't have the EXTREME winters there like you do here but you still get all four seasons! Love the commissary on post, it's HUGE!!! Also the PX is very large. We lived in Clarksville and loved every minute of it.. Also, Nashville is very close, it's like 45 minutes from Clarksville and there's always something going on there. I know you will love it! 

I've never pcs'd. But from what i hear you get alot more travel pay if you move yourself vs having a moving company move you. You would be without your stuff longer here before you leave then you would there. When my frined pcs'd to alaska her stuff was already in alaska before she even left fort riley so when she got there she had it with in 2 days. 

We are here now dropping our stuff in storage. It seems like a nice area. Bah is really low here, but so if the housing market. Our friends are here and talk highly of this place so Im pretty excitrd to get here in Oct. Ill let you know what I can when I learn about it :) 

We pcs'd ourselves from ft drum to wisconsin and we made money... well we didnt pcs ourselves, or else we would be in campbell! :) But we did move ourselves and made money... they didnt have the big commy and px when we were there... at that time there was talk of new commy... man i wanna go back! but I enjoy being out!!! 

I will also note that we loved it sooo much there that when the hubbs retires we plan to move back to Tennessee and make it our permanent home :) 

We are also pcs'ing to Campbell, but not until May. I have heard great things about it as well. The only thing I can suggest is when your hubby knows which unit, to get in touch with the FRG there and ask for help moving in. He can also ask guys from his new unit once he gets there. Unless there is some major issue, the guys should be able to help. My husband and I have helped new soldiers and their families move a few times. Hope you like it out there.. im so excited to move!

Thanks....we're trying to push it back to May, they've told him it was possible to let the kids finish the school year, and since this would be the first year they would ever possibly end at the same school they started...we're hoping for that. It says the unit on the orders, I just can't figure out what it means....Thanks everybody, am looking at housing prices and they seem ridiculously high so maybe I'm looking in the wrong places or what. Hopefully we can get onto post
