I am so tired of the 8-10 year olds running around forsyth housing area ringing the doorbells for no reason, then running across the street yelling "you can't catch me". We are all sick with strep and pneumonia, the last thing we need is unsupervised kids annoying us all damn evening. So tempted to let my dog out to chase them away. (I wouldn't do that, but it is SO tempting). If I am able to watch my children even while sick, why can't the parents of these kids? Has anyone else came across this? I know housing and the mps won't do anything.

Camillia --- 14 years ago -

F that! I would tell the MP's that its harassment and to learn their laws or you will call their supervisor , I know in AK the head guy was a civilian , either way it IS harassment, if you can find out the unit of the childrens parents I would call them b/c they are accountable for their childrens actions!

wonder mommy 4 ever --- 14 years ago -

You can call the mps and I would

LuVmYsMalLfAmIlY --- 14 years ago -

i always see that in forsyth, do you see how many babies and kids are out running around without anyone watching them? its sad but not even the mp's care to be honest!

Buglet --- 14 years ago -

Call the MP's but also call Picerne office. The two do not communicate. Picerne will kick people off post for certain offenses but you have to report it directly to them, the MP's do not. Also all the kids go to Ware Elementary call the school and ask them to speak to the kids about it during their assemblies or something.

Buglet --- 14 years ago -

Also put something really stinky and smelly on your doorbell, then it will be on their finger. Let them explain that to mom.

NoBullHere --- 14 years ago -

No Picerne won't, I have a psycho ex-nanny that kept breaking in to our old neighbor's house after the locks were changed. We took pictures, called the MP's, called the after hours maint. personal, and reported her for stealing an E-Army U computer that belonged to my husband. NOTHING happened to her, she still hangs out on post chasing soldiers, and volunteers with a certain public place.
I see more of her in the new area then I did before, go figure!

NoBullHere --- 14 years ago -

Oh and the housing/MP's do not enforce the kids running ramped under 13 rule. They like to make their news letters look "important" and the dead beat parents that let them know it!

BadLuckMommy --- 14 years ago -

I have a neighbor that not only let's her young children run around with no supervision but her dogs. I have called the mps but nothing has been done because by the time they get here the children and dogs are inside. Its very frustrating.

Here's what you do: Get yourself one of those canned air horns. Stand by the peephole and wait for the next little booger to come up and ring the bell; right before he touches it, thrust the door open and give him a blast o'horn. It's also very effective if you wear any old Halloween masks you may have lying around...

Seriously, if it were me I'd find their parents if I had to follow them around until they went home; if your kids are going to annoy me, then I'm going to annoy you until you--oh, I don't know--be responsible for your children and their actions and actually watch them.

BLM-i think i know who you are talking about, she has a chihuahua and like whole bunch of other dogs along with 5 or 6 kids.

wasssuuuuppp --- 14 years ago -

we have 4 kids here that run and play in the street. the speed limit is 30mph. and you know these crazy drivers drive faster than that.. i about had a heart attack the other day.

this little girl about 1 yrs old ran out infront of a car. of course out of instinct i about broke every bone in my body jumpin over our patio wall and tryin to grab her. all her mom did was laugh im like wtf.

LovinLife824 --- 14 years ago -

People not obeying speed limits is an issue. 15 mph apparently equals 30 in some neighborhoods. Yes, people should be aware of where their children are, but drivers also need to be aware of what is going on around them. I can't tell you how many times I have gone to cross the street and some idiot is going faster than necessary. The tailgating is ridiculous too. Where do you need to go that is really that important? Relax and enjoy life.

BadLuckMommy --- 14 years ago -

No, I am talking about a woman who lets her 4 year old roam outside by herself up until like 8pm by herself. One night I was told by my other neighbor that she (the 4 year old) came wondering up the street at 10:30pm. So far in the last 2 days her massive dogs have gotten out 3 times. Picerne says they will call animal control on Tuesday so I hope that at least lets her know she needs to keep a better handle on her dogs. As for her kids, I think she has 4, I don't know I try not to pry, but as soon as it involves my children I become very involved.

My son was attacked by the other neighbors dog and all she got was a stinkin FINE. I'm like seriously???? You just fine someone that allows their pet to attack children?

MangaIsLikeCrack --- 14 years ago -

Is there the 1 bite law in Kansas?

BadLuckMommy --- 14 years ago -

I don't know, but if there is then this dog needs to be put down because my son was not the first to be attacked by this dog.

Tee C --- 14 years ago -

BLM, what did the police say??? Did you contact IG or call the Commander's Hotline? That's outrageous.

Right on, lol. Let's see their parents try to deny being caught on videotape; kudos to you.

Just happened to me last night-- thenkids were still in my driveway when I opened the door. They got the best "mean teacher" treatment I could muster. These kids were only 9-10 yrs old!

Some people don't have even temperments, and they have low tolerences when it comes to children. God forbid someone lose their cool and smack someone's child, especially when the parents could have prevented the behavior by actually watching their children.

Stacey --- 13 years ago -

So true Tee C and my husband is one of them. Thank goodness he was not home.

cleanfreak --- 13 years ago -

i remember doing this stuff of knocking on peoples doors w/friends after dark & running off but now i'm like i'll be dam- these kids are allowed to roam free like i was 25 years ago when i was in grade school. i disabled my doorbell so the jokes more on them if they did it again last night here.
