Buying used mattress's?

Yea I see a lot of them being posted on here lately .. 

You have NO idea where that bed has been or WHAT has been on it. Thats just sick. There are a few things in life I WILL NOT purchase used, and mattresses are one of them 

Yea. I learned my lesson. When my husband was deployed I had moved home and slept on a airbed for year not comfy after a while when I moved back here my back had, had it I was desprite for a bed. So stupidly I bought a mattress of craigslist brought it home then woke up inching like crazy from head to toe, found out their was fleas on it! im allergic to fleas my skin broke out it was just awful! 

I know a lot of states you arent allowed to resaell used matteresses. I would never buy a used one

Yeah, I cant imagine buying a used one,ewwww imagine the body fluids on it, bedbugs, lice, fleas ....soooo gross lol 

Yea I should of known better! Glad I have a brand new bed! 

I've gotten used mattresses for free. I've never bought one. I put bleach in my carpet cleaner and go over the mattress really really good and then leave it out in the sun which is naturally antibacterial and do that for a few hours. I wouldn't buy one but if I can get it for free and it's in good condition then it's fine 

Ya I bought it and got totally ripped off. I took it off riley yard sales after I found out what was causeing my break out, but this lady wanted it even after I told her it needed to be thrown out 

Still did'nt really get exactly what I paid for it back erg 

some people cant afford a new mattress. so there are way to clean it. they also make a mattress cover that you can buy its zipped up . 

i agree with Kandice and PL..some people cant afford new ones and there were plenty of ways to clean them. i definitely wouldnt get one that clearly looked nasty ie: stains, bed bugs dropping/signs and try to clean it though. 

I think it's gross, personally, but if you can only afford it then what should you do? I wouldn't buy a used one or take a free one; only new. Used couches and such seem kinda creepy too... I guess it depends on the people you get them from.

My husband is a medical provider and told me a story of a whole family he had to treat for bed bugs. They picked up a used mattress and ended up infesting their home and selves.

Ditto. I saw one at the post wide yard sales...this chick was trying to sell it for 20 bucks. She had had it for about 15 years and it looked like someone had pooped on it and played in it...it was GROSS. I dont understand how people can look at that and go "Yup, I can so sell that" eww. When I get done cleaning the used ones I've gotten...nothing is living on it or in it anymore.

What about used couches? There could be the same nasties on one of them. Just sayin'...

But I too wouldn't buy a used matress. Just thethoight gives me the heebie jeebies. 

I was'nt saying anything bad people, if people can't afford a new one, I was just saying I had a bad experience with the one I had bought it did not look dirty at all trust me I tried cleaning it and I was still getting bite
