Okay, I have to vent.....and since my best friend isn't home right now, i'm going to vent on here!!!! I sold on item on RYS, to a couple that lived out of town, I had been dealing with the wife who was very nice and respectful! She had her husband meet me in town to pick up the item, I had made all the arrangements ahead of time negotiated a price and everything was set. When we met up, the husband belittles me, and tells me that this item can be bought brand new in the store for only 60 dollars more, and that he wants it for a cheaper price. After standing my ground and telling him, that he is not the only person out there, and I would be more then happy to find another buyer he gives me the money we had agreed on, and then continue to belittle me and tell me that I'm young and I better learn real quick that people around here are not suckers, and no one is going to pay a lot of money for used junk, especially to you and your husband! And I said what is that supposed to mean....he replied with "I know your an RN, and your husband is an NCO, and you don't have kids, so you guys make good money". Completely disgusted, I didn't even say another word and just left. How can people be so rude and idiotic!!! I honestly wanted to cry, not because I was upset, but because I was soo pissed!! 

The second he started talking to me like that I would have told him to shove it and got in my car WITH the item and left. I refuse to deal with people like that. It is no ones business how much money you have or make...if they don't want to pay what you ask they can move on. 

I would be pissed too. And I agree with Tiffany on this, it was your stuff, you didn't have to sell it cheaper, and for a person to be so rude to you was just "WOW". I never send my hubbs to pic up only because I made the arrangements, and if I am sick I take one of my sons with me to either pu or drop off, I am in the car if they have any problems, they deal with me, I try to be curtious as to not spead my germs (lol) but if you want to be rude by God you can suffer with me. That's how it is. 

I would have told him I am sorry but I am taking my over priced junk back home and you can take your a$$ to the store and spend 60 more bucks! Some people have no souls!! 

id turn him into his command for talking to you like that he should know better than that. YOur not one of his Troops your a spouse and a woman at that, proud of you for standing you ground : ) more power to you girl 

Thanks.....I just couldn't believe how rude he was! My husband was PISSED when I told him what happened! He is even more mad then I am, and I didn't think that as possible!

Great advice! It makes no difference if you and your husband make a million a year, you are under no requirement to give your belongings away. How terribly rude of that man!

He obviously has no balls because any real man is not going to treat a woman that way IMO. He was trying to shame her into lowering her price. If he wanted something that badly he could have paid the extra 60 for the new item. He was an azz.

Oh my goodness, I just made a thread about this. The sheer audacity of some people to "assume" about what you have and don't have.

Melanie, I agree with the person who said you shouldn't have sold it to him. If he'd told me he could pay $60 more and get it brand new, I'd have smiled and said, "Okay, enjoy your new _____!" as I got back into my car and drove away.

This eerily sounds like a couple I sold some items to on RYS...lol. 

I would put an ad on RYS with his name or email so no one else has to deal with his rude a$$
