There have been topics on this before (sorry) but I need to know where I can find a groomer for my dog for around $20. This is a medium sized very hairy dog, like brushing her seems to create more hair. I just cleaned my floors/couch of the hair so am really wanting to get her groomed pronto. HELP! 

I called Petco in Manhattan a few weeks back about my moms dog and if I remember correctly it was going to be $20 for him to be washed, groomed and have his teeth cleaned but you can always call them and ask. 587-8638 is their number 

Nah, they do an undercoat removal which is the level of brushing we're looking for and the cost is like $40 or $45. We've done that a couple times. There WERE a couple good grooming options at Woofstock recently, one in Junction City, but I lost their info and can't find them on the Net. They were like little home-based mom and pop shops I think. 

Have you found anyone that'll do cheap grooming?? I have a 7lb dog that could use a grooming here soon and being pregnant I just can't bring myself to do it, plus I can't see having to pay $35 for such a small dog where I use to take him once in a while.

That's where I take my dog and they charge at least $35 every time I take my 7lb dog.

Pretty weird that the price always changes even though I always have the same services for him, that's why I quit taking him, but I'll probably have to take him again soon if I can't find someone cheaper. 

I take my dog to a lady on post and she only charged me 25.00. I have only been to her once but she did a great job on my dog and I will be taking him back. Her name is Jackie and her number is 785-230-8110. I found her through recommendations on here. She is fantasic as far as I am concerned! 

How big is your dog torri? Does she just charge that flat rate or does it depend on the dog? 

I take mine to Town and Country by Sonic, I take my two Danes in and I get charged $40 for both, thats with the nails, teeth, ears, and all that as well as bathed. Ask for Dorothy 

I've started taking my dogs to Town and Country, I'll need to see about their grooming when I need it. That's a really good price for 2 danes! Was it $40 each or for both? 

I believe she charges a flat rate because she never asked me the size of my dog. Give her a call, I am sure no matter what she will be reasonable! 

Oh and she bathed, groomed, nails, did the anal glands. She was very considerate to my sensitive dog...lol he is a big sissy! I got everything that I got at petco last year for a fraction of the cost. Oh and I am not even sure if Petco drains the anal glands. 

Have you ever heard of the Furminator? I have one that I use on my cats, and it works great! Its alittle pricey but the knock offs do not work as good as the actual furminator. It might not solve your problem right now, but for maintance to cut back on groomings it def. Helps with. If you live on post I would be more than happy to run mine over so you could try it out, if you like. 

It was $40 for both and she was so nice and gentle with my danes as they are big babies. She even gave my boy a bandana and my girl a clip on flower for their collars. They were so cute!!

Just don't get caught. It is illegal to run a buisness that is not inspected and liscensed throught kansas. Just in case it isn't. 

I am not sure if she is or not, she said she has been doing it for 5 years. Whether she was or not was not a worry to me, it would be her that got in trouble, not me. I just wanted my dog to look sharp...and that he does! No frills or bandanas or bows...just him smelling good and looking great! 

Thats great! I wasn't saying it to be mean, I just know there were issues in the past with a certain groomer...not her....but the "other" groomer wasn't liscensed and was shut down, due to lack of having a permit. I think it takes talent to be a groomer and anyone that is good at it, is awesome in my book! Not to mention doing it for such a good price shows that she is doing it because thats what she loves, which is also another plus!!
