just wondering on everyone's thoughts on medical marijuana or legalization period..? I think it should be legal all the way around with the same rules as alcohol..I have done a lot of research on it, I myself dont smoke it but think its very useful for anxiety, pain and cancer patients.
i feel the same way...i had my teenage days and was a full blown rebel and did my share of trouble and it has the same effects as alcohol. theres no difference between getting drunk or smokin some blunts. but it brings it back to the whole moonshining thing...people are gonna grow it and the government cant catch everyone to be able to tax it...thats the only reason why it isnt legal now bc of that. im a full blown YES on that vote!
Its actually less harmful then alcohol which is why its such BS that its so hard for people who need it for medical purposes to get it. Kills like 99% less then alcohol (hardly ever overdose on weed or get a dui/dwi) Cancer patients use it to increase their appetite from chemo..just so many benefits, I mean percocet is legal to be prescribed in every state and its a sister of heroin/morphine. Just so frustrating!
you CANT overdose on pot...you would have to smoke more pot then your body weight to do anything...bc of the LD50 of THC being so low or something like that...some medicines for ADHD is a small dosage of meth...my grandfather smoked pot when he was going through chemo and as i remember that was the best shape he was in. i agree...if we can get percocet...then we should get pot!!!
I think it should be legalized. Alcohol is sooooo much worse. I think it could really help people in pain instead of getting them hooked on morphine and stuff.
You would pass out or puke your guts up before you could over dose. That one always makes me laugh when people talk about overdosing on it haha. I would like to see someone try to overdose on it...you just cant do it.
ROFLMAO!! in washington they have a radio show, and part of the radio show is weird 911 calls. well aparently a cop called 911 one day and is like " i just smoked pot and now im dead because i overdosed. my wife is in the next room and she smoked to but im dead so i cant go check if she is still alive" the guy was dead serious and asked for them to send someone to come get his body because he was completely dead. i laughed my butt off literally!!
my opinions on weed- i know ppl who smoke it and go about their day as if they just smoked a cig, but i know some ppl that smoke it then will not get off the couch. so if it does become legal, will everyone become very lazy and not go anywhere in life or will they go about like nothing is different?? i dont know.
Pot can come in pill form so for the people who complain that it can cause cancer their point is moot..everything causes cancer now days. Now I dont think apt buildings should allow smoking cigs or pot bc I dont want to smell them but otherwise LEGALIZE IT!
also- i know ppl in cali that got their medical weed card or whatever its called which means they can legally smoke and grow weed, (i think there is a 6 plant limit) and they dont need it. they are the lazy ones who just sit there and smoke weed all day and dont do anything. is that really what we need? i doubt it.
so if it does become legal, will everyone become very lazy and not go anywhere in life or will they go about like nothing is different??
Thats like with anything though. I know people that can drink and drink it like it was just a glass of water...then I know some people that drink and are crawling in the floor haha. I think it depends on the personality...if you have an addictive personality and know its going to take over your life then you probably shouldnt do it.
I personally think the country could make gobs of money off of legalization.. I know someone who smokes it everyday... he works a laborer job where he is constantly doing something and it helps with his adhd... it does not make him lazy... maybe that is what this country needs to help get out of recession! :) There will be people who smoke and dont do anything, but they already are, whether it is legal or not. That wont change anything IMO...and, if they make it legal then maybe these kids will quit finding other crap to get high with that kills them!
en maybe these kids will quit finding other crap to get high with that kills them!
Also will hopefully take some of these drug dealers that sale pot laced with stuff that kills kids. I think it would really help our country right now if they would legalize it...help bring some money in.
(also hookers...legalize..people do it anyways...control it, and tax this crap out of it.)
, if they make it legal then maybe these kids will quit finding other crap to get high with that kills them!
exactly but they would need to put an age limit on it like cigarettes or something i think. this is supposed to be "america land of the free" but why arent we free to do the things we want to? like smoking weed for one thing!
(also hookers...legalize..people do it anyways...control it, and tax this crap out of it.)
thing is...no matter how many people you arrest its never going to go away...theres always going to be some girl desperate to make money and unfortunately thats one way to do it fast.
i was watching dr drew on a pot documentary once and besides being my idol he made a very good point...he said america has failed at the war on drugs.
IMO there isnt a thing wrong with moonshine and pot
My brother who died at the age of 24 due to cancer smoked weed for as long as I could remember.. prolly the better part of 10 yrs.. my mom was actually hoping it was a pot seed that had maybe gotten infected on his rib than a tumor.. man I wish it had too!! But to hear her say that was just wierd...

They should let them do it then, Make them go to the doctor and documentation that they are disease free, keep them drug free and regulate their paycheck...Tax the person wanting the services out the butt. If they want to get a hooker let them but they are gonna have to pay because the chick they are getting is healthy.
Some of my family back home still has some moonshine. They dont drink it but if they get the flu or a bad cold they take a shot of it and go to bed and it usually knocks it out of them haha.
I would want them to make a age limit on the weed. 18-21 something like that. I know people would still get it illegally but maybe it wouldnt be as bad since it would actually be legal if your the right age to get it.
I almost think if they make it legal then it won't be the cool thing to do anymore. Drugs will just keep escalating. I know a lot of people are afraid to legalize it, because what's the next step? We legalize heroin, prostitution, etc? I don't care lol. I'm just saying.
Just wanted to share a little known fact that I learned recently : In the Civil War era Prostutution was legalized in some southern states as well as in Washington DC ; The prostututes had to have a license and every 2 weeks they were examed to check for known STDs. They were charged a fee of 50 cents which funded a hospital for prostutes ( known as the laundry house) and a hospital for soldiers who had contracted STDs that were in final stages . These hospitals ran until the late 1880's at which time they were closed down. ( The book I read was called What they wont tell you , SEX during the CIvil war) It is more of a historical Bio written as a thesis by a class for there professor , very good read, and has photos that show proof of documentation kept in DC in presidential archives.
It amazes me that people make such a big deal over some issues. I mean I know several cancer patients that do medical pot, and it does bette for them than the pain meds ever did. They don't feel constipated, they have an appiatite, etc. I personal don't do any drugs, but would like to see a system in place that works to protect people who can benefit from it's benefits, and still protect those who chose not to have "crazies" to deal with either. I think it can be done , people just need to realize that like other substances we have to own up responsiblity to the people who use. Those who don't need to stop playing "Big Brother". As for an age restriction, H3Ll yes, by all means. But remember if a kid wants it bad enough they will find a way, they always do. And taxing it would be great , maybe then we would be able to take care of our soldiers, seniors, and fundings for families with disablities. JMO, but hey if it works, why not.
Farmers have gone to the govt and asked to let them grow pot for the govt b/c they lost their farms and have no income for their family and of course they get shut down. Just like a reg. farm it could be managed and the govt could regulate it...but nope of course not!
And I too believe prostitution should be legal!! It would cut down on so many issues as far as prostitution arrests and drug use. A lot of prostitutes use drugs b/c they have nothing else in life..if you watch the Cathouse series on HBO its a legal brothel and they are healthy money making, tax paying prostitutes! Really whats the difference between a stripper and a prostitute??
BTW if they have money for bait car programs and prostitute stings..why in the world do we not have $$$ to track sex offenders?!?!?! I have insurance for my car let them steal it...you cannot reverse the damage a registered sex offender who skips around without being tracked..can do to a child!!!!!
My husband and I were talking earlier if they would legalize these 2 things, then our country going broke would be turned around in like 2 weeks haha. It would help bring money to our country and help regulate use of weed and hookers.
I debated this in high school. My very favorite statistic is that if you eat 10 raw potatoes it can cause a toxic shock and kill you but you cannot physically consume enough pot to kill you.
I dont know how I feel about it being illegal. I do know I do not want the person who just smoked a joint or is in the process of smoking one to be driving on the same roads as me. In addition, I dont want that person responsible for changing my tire, building my house, teaching my child, performing a surgery, etc However, I dont want someone whos just had a martini doing any of that either. The fact is, marijuana use has been proven to be a stepping stone into harder drugs; ones that do kill you. There is something about the effect a person has with marijuana that leaves them wanting the next great high. If they were to legalize it, would they treat it the same as alcohol because alcohol has some of the same effects.
To me know drug is a stepping stone to harder drugs...thats just a cop out. I've drank, and smoked and popped pills when I was in high school but I never though "hmmm now that I smoked pot I want to try coke...or meth" Thats part of the Refer madness they instilled back in the day. Once you try pot you'll go to harder stuff, really its just people with addictive personalities that just want to do drugs...that has to be part of your personality...something that is not because of drugs that you tried but the way your brain is wired. It would be legalized there would need to be an age limit and you wouldnt need to do it while driving just like alcohol.

thats really interesting...i didnt know that

amen!!!
alot of people FREAK out when they hear about making pot legal....but like some their afraid that it will lead to harder drugs which is true...when i was in hs i started drinking...then it lead to pot...then it led to harder stuff...i have no shame in what i did...a certain situation made it clear to me that i needed help and ASKED for rehab and ive completely 360-ed from that...but what does cigarettes and alcohol too? its self control thats the trick...some people have it and some dont.
im very impressed with this bunch tonight...last set of army wives i spoke too about this about had a coronary about the situation.

I have found that most army wives I've met or were friends were all for it. I think most would like it to be legal so they can use it for a stress reliever haha!
