I need out of the house and thinking about taking my kid to thie part day prechool at cdc at 1 so i can go do my grocery shopping done running out of things. And dont even judge me for taking my kids to cdc on a snowy day like today just for the record they havent been to their part day preschool since last monday becuase of their horrible colds. Does anyone know what the roads are like?
I personally havent drove on them but I know my husband just got told to stay home and not come in. The roads are still all red. If you do go out just be very careful. Personally to me, I'm waiting to go out until it warms up a bit.
IDK i do know i am goig crazy sitting at hme with my kids been stuck in the house for a week because of their colds. I can take sitting at home all the time expecially when payday is here but then again its not worth risking my life
My good friend works at a CDC on post. She is not going in because the roads are too bad. I think most people are staying home, but if you do go out drive slowly.
ya im very cautious about driving in crap like this probably to cautios lol. Its not my driving im worried about its other peoples driving im worried about that are not use to this. My friend from tx went to start her truck this morning it wont start one of her neighbors tried to leave her parking lot and got stuck near her truck. SHe says she needs to leave and go somewhere but if you guys are saying the roads are bad she deffantly needs to stay home if she gets her truck started becuase she has 4 kids to take out with her. ages 5 and under. When their is snow on the roads and not even bad she has me drive if my kids are at school becuase im use to it
If you do go out I would try to wait until later...Maybe the sun will melt something, I'm not sure though because the high is only 9 today haha. We've got cabin fever but I'm just not going to risk going out and someone hitting us.
we drove on them yesterday and they werent that bad as long as you went slow ..my hubby just went to 24 hour and he said they arent that bad ..but not sure how they are up on the hill...were from ny and use to roads much worse ..so maybe to us there not back but to other people they are ..i know the housing areas are much worse then the actual roads also ..you can always try and if you dont feel comfortable just turn around
I do have all wheel drive which helps but as bad as i want out of the house i dont think im going anywhere. like i said i have to go out tomorrow morning i dont have a choice my frienid who doesnt have a licence has a breifing with transportation about moving her next week. so since i have to go out tomorrow i might as well suck it up for one more day. I deffanltly have cabin fever tho and no SURGAR or sweets
HK im from iowa so im use to this i just dont like it. Altho people were saying roads were bad on monday when they were not becuase i was out on monday. like i said not worried about my driving since im use to snow covered roads im worried about other peoples driving lol
I make my decision to go out based on Caisson Hill Rd which is behind my house. Usually if that is clear, the otehr main roads are Ok.. and Caisson Hill is still covered in snow. I'd say wait until the sun is out a little longer and maybe they get some salt/sand down. Then it should be Ok. At least I hope so because we are officially out of milk and bread. :(
i have milk no bread but then again the 24hr shoppett is only 2 blocks from me. you know its time to go grocery shopping when you open your fridge/freezer and cubbords and nothing sounds good
I think i have done made up my mind. I dont think im going out my kids still have some what of a cold and i dont want to take them out and make it worse when it will be warmer tomorrow. ya tomorrow i will have to take them to the store with me but thats better then dragging them out in below 0 temps. Thanks
Good idea! I think we will push through and just do juice until tomorrow! No milk for one day never killed anyone.. although the way my daughter is screaming you would think so! haha
Its not my driving im worried about its other peoples driving im worried about that are not use to this.
In addition to that, the side roads really haven't been cleared as well as they could have been. Yes, most of the main roads are okay, but you have to get to them using the side roads first. No matter how careful or good a driver you are, sliding is something you can't control on the right surface.
There are ways of controling you car when you are sliding you just need to know how to correct it and not jerking it. ANd i live on the corner next to jackson so i dont have far to go to get to a main road. but like i said dont matter im not leaving
YAY I am still wanting to go out but its so FRICKEN COLD. plus cant go anywhere for atleast and hour or so till my son wakes up we will see if i get that bored
The roads on post arent bad (once you are of housing of course lol) But Junction City roads are bad, just becareful. They arent really cleared and they are slipery
I live on a side street in Manhattan and it has some snow on it but doesn't look to bad. You can actually see the asphalt in some places where the sun is melting it.
