I know similar things have been posted, but it has been awhile. so....Anyone have recipes they would like to share? I have decided that my husband and I arent going to be eating out much anymore because it just cost WAY too much. I figure by the time we eat out, I could buy stuff to eat at home cheaper! I have been to allrecipes.com and have a few cookbooks(looking for more), but just thought I would ask for some input, I like to try different things!
i have some really simple ones that i learned from my mother in law when i got married. she's spanish and i'm white so she thought i could learn some dishes that my husband loved (haha) anyway depends on what you like really.
Chicken enchilada Casserole.
what you need: chicken, tostitoes chips (any kind will work really), grated cheese, and green mexican sause.
Broil chicken breast, cut up, layer in a pan and cook till the chips are soft. it's really good. i have others just let me know
I have a few that my momma gave me, but we'll have to eat them as a team because they're made for 10 brothers and sisters!!! lol =P
If you want we can have a dinner night and you can help me cook this stuff (it will be my first time trying them!! so i will need all the help I can get!! lol)
I am mexican and can teach you some great dishes! but I can cook anything not just mexican. but i can teach you how to make green chilie and red chilie from scratch and how to make enchiladas, anything mexican I can also teach you southern food and I make the best lasanga! I have been cooking since the age of five long story lol but if you have the time so do i
Sweet and Sour pork (not like the restaurants....lol)
1 pork loin
green bell pepper
onion
chicken broth
Kraft sweet and sour sauce
pineapple chunks drained
rice
Cut the onion and pepper up and put it in a pot on the stove or crock pot. Add the pork loin, chicken broth (as directed) and the sweet and sour sauce. Put a lid on it cook all day or until done and tender. Add pinapples and cook a little longer.
I make the rice in the side, its just better that way to me. This is soooo freaking good. I made it for my dad and he looked at me like i was insane but he LOVED it!! Its really easy too and all you do is make the rice at dinner time everything else is done by then. Really easy to start and then leave it there to tend to the kiddos...lol
i've never been able to do lasagna.... that would be fun to learn though. i'm always been too afraid to try it so it's always store bought for my family =P

Have you tried this website?http://www.hayterturkey.com
They have some really good recipes. I know they have a bacon mushroom & cheese turkey burger. I'm sure you could just take out the mushrooms if you didn't want them.
We make pizza loaves or rolls for friday nights, instead of ordering pizza.
You can make dough from scratch or by frozen loaves or rolls.
Roll them out once thawed, add your toppings of choice, and seal them. bake them at 350.
When i am lazy I make the pizza bread and then just cut off slices of the bread with topping baked inside and we eat them that way or sometimes individual pizza rolls.
Not really a recipe...lol and its another pork loin but those ones at the commissary that are already seasoned and have a 2 dollar off coupon most the time, makes them 4 dollars if you bake those then grill them for a little bit they are sooooo freaking good!!
ok..So, I know this is going to seem like a DUH request....but anyone got a pepper steak recipe? I have seen 2 status updates on FB about making this and it sounds sooo good! :P.
Ooops sorry about that. Christina I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for or not, but I get pork steaks and a packet of the grillmates seasoning. I believe it's called black peppercorn and garlic. Anyways just follow the directions on the back and marinate overnight. I prefer to bake them in the oven because they turn out much more tender and moist rather than when you grill them. They are pretty spicy though just so you know.
Kristen you made me hungry. I have a really good recipe for Sweet and Sour Chicken/Pork somewhere. It beats all Chinese Restaurants that I have tried. I'm going to have to make that soon. Mmmmm!
